Los Tapatios Taco Shop — Restaurant in Universal City

If I could give negative stars I would, this used to be my sisters favorite place for tacos so she took me here, the food was so bad we had to stop after 2 bites the first order they brought out was wrong so we politely asked for what we ordered, only to be met with a combative attitude from the woman up front insisting that she go "check our receipt" she came back with the correct order. Only the food was still horrible tasting and they charged you 1$ for a literal table spoon of "sour cream" I put quotations because what she came back with wasn't sour cream but a Milky substance my sister later informed me was table cream. We had barely touched our food so we just brought it back to the front and asked for a refund because we paid 30$ for basically dog food and some weird milk in a container, and like before the woman was combative saying it was sour cream and proceeded to go to the back and get the container it came in to prove it. She then continues to pour it out onto the plate to prove it and yeah it was definitely not sourcream 😐 anyways I asked for a refund and she refused saying the owners weren't there so she couldn't Wich is ridiculous in its self.We will not being returning and do not recommend going for anyone in the future. Update : the owner contacted us first the day of the original review, he let us know we would get our money back by Monday since he was out of town for the holiday, my sister agreed and that was settled. Two weeks have passed since and my sister was upset so she called back and was met with a combative owner saying that because I ( her sister ) left an honest review that he didn't think it was "fair" that I wrote a review and still wanted a refund yet we barely ate the food and should have gotten it that day. I find in appalling behavior from a business owner the way he reacted on the phone was completely unprofessional and I will be posting those videos online later. You cannot bully customers into backing down and keeping quiet by holding their money hostage and it's absolutely unacceptable to me . I'm so sad that I am even having to write this review as I've been coming here for over a year and have recommended this place to family and co workers. Me and my friend came to eat during lunch time and ordered 2 plates of 3 corn birria tacos and waited over 30 minutes as I didn't mind. Once we received our food I took my first bite and realized that they gave me flour instead of corn tortillas. I got the attention of the lady who was working the front and informed her I got the wrong food. She reached for my plate and seemed annoyed so I rush and I put my napkin, wrap and trash in the togo box and handed it to her. She brung back out my plate by this time I had to return to work so I grabbed a bag for my food and headed out assuming my order was remade correctly. Once I arrived at work I opened my food only to see that she did not make me a fresh plate but instead removed the trash , kept my half opened consume , left the one flour taco I took a bite out of and replaced the other two tacos for the correct one. I am truly disgusted and lost for words. I will never be returning to this location. The owner of the restaurant and his mother or wife are truly amazing and always a great experience and great food only reason why I'm giving 2 stars. The staff that was their today needs some proper training and needs to be held accountable for the food conditions. This place might be in my mind making the best tacos in the country. I have had lots of tacos at lots of places, the tortillas, the ingredients, the salsa. It was the closest thing I've ever had to tortillas like my grandmas and mom used to make, the guy at the front desk was awesome, the lady who answered the phone was super nice. It was exactly what you are hoping for in customer service. But I'm not lying when I tell you I said at least a few times that these might be the best tacos I've ever had. I'm not lying when I say I have had tacos in Korea and every else in between here and there. If you want the best tacos and a pretty reasonable price, call ahead as an order for pickup and then get home quick, Jarritos included. I think the only thing that would make this place the best around would be some Mexican wedding cookies or Polvorones Rosas, something along those lines. Even without that though, this is the only place I'll be going for tacos for awhile. These were legit so good I didn't even think about taking a picture until after they were gone. lolol.
