This was my first time visiting this location. I was there for the Azalea Festival. It's wasn't anything like back home, where we have the Dade Youth Fair in Miami. However, the location was good. There were lots of vendors selling very over priced foods i.e. footlong hot dogs, fries. funnel cakes, fish/shrimp meals, Philly cheese steak subs, artwork, tee shirts, nice homemade jewelry, oils for men with beards, plants, pony rides, bounce houses, bounce slides, live music, vendor processing car deals and much more. There were plenty of adults and children of all races, nationalities and sizes. People were there with all types of dogs. The playground area was just okay. My honest opinion is that it needs more asphalt paving to keep the visitor shoes clean and it makes the walking around the park easier. There were several porta-potties for restroom usage that appeared clean on the outside, the park was a very friendly dog park with people bringing tiny pup to large dogs that a child could ride. The picnic area was great. There was seating under the trees in shaded areas of the park and if you wanted to sit in the direct sunlight; there were accomodations. Overall, the park is a great place...

This used to be one of my children's favorite places to come and play. After today though I doubt we will be back. Upon arrival, aside from the bums who were sleeping on the benches nearby, we noticed an open condom wrapper at the top of the slides. Since it was just the wrapper I thought no big deal, this park is right across the street from a college. About 20 minutes later we found a pair of black lace underwear underneath the slides. While these probably went along with the condom wrapper we continued to play even though it made me a little uneasy. Not long after a few feet from the underwear on the other side of the slide there was a used bloody tampon just laying there. I was here with my one and two year olds who could have easily picked this disgusting thing up. That was the last straw and we packed up...

Attended the annual azalea festival in Valdosta Georgia at Drexel Park lots of fun things for every age range had a great time with the family walking through the park seeing all the vendors and rides and games enjoying some of the local food vendors. Drexel Park was an excellent location for the venue. Lots of shade from the trees so small foot Bridge connecting one side of the park to the other from the small Creek that runs through the middle of it. It was well supported by the city as there were fire trucks EMS and police officers on hand to lend a hand...

My grandaughter and I brought our lunch to the park. The picnic benches were there, but "Idalia" took down a lot of trees and debris! Thank you to the workers that will get the park back to its usual beautiful state. We enjoyed watching the squirrels!! It's a great place to enjoy!

Drexel Park is such an amazing park near Valdosta State University. There are so many different types of trees which also attract a good diversity of birds. A babbling stream separates the park in two with a nice walking bridge in the middle of the park to cross sides.

We had heard they had an Azalea Festival here, and we stopped by the weekend afterward. It was so beautiful, and felt like walking through scenes from a Monet painting. We even saw some azaleas still blooming.
