David that claimed the title of General (short ruddy rotund Hispanic male) should not be dealing directly with the public for any reason. His appearance looks like he just rolled out of bed after getting toasted for two days straight. His demeanor is rude and disrespectful. If he is indeed a manager he needs to be replaced with someone that can actually talk to the public. Took it from a five star to a one star. 10:22 pm. I asked when they closed. The hostess started to say basically now, but waved a short ruddy rotund Hispanic guy. He was disheveled, half cast and appeared as if he rolled bed. She said something. He said the kitchen is closed. I tried to ask him if there was anything I could order to go. He cut me off. He was really rude and abrupt. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I thought perhaps he's a kitchen worker and if I shared my experience with the manager on duty they could have a chat with him about his physical appearance and verbal interactions. He came to the phone and cut me off before I could determine what was going on. I am sure that any negative reviews that you have are from this type treatment and this type of management. The experience would have been better if had someone that could actually manage themselves warmly engage and invite back. i.e. set an expectation "I am so sorry that you came out, the kitchen is closed. It closes at x:00, we open tomorrow at x:xx if you'd like to come back". That is not what I got, I got someone that was disheveled, noncommunicative did not provided helpful information/assistance for future visits, and then he advised was the general manager, mind you I was pleasant the whole time, and the went on to say how important he was "I'm the manager I have things to do". ...well, that's part of what managers do and that's service. He failed and should not be anywhere near customers in person. He has no people skills, no management skills and does not take into consideration increasing revenue by keeping good customers aware of what policies are so they can patronize again, seeing what he can do to help. If he's not a cook, or a behind the scenes person, get rid of him. He has no people skills.=========== Honestly, I really do enjoy this place myself. A little discriminatory treatment from time to time but the food and staff are pretty decent. I love to sit on the patio and have lunch or dinner. The lunch specials are great. The gratuitous chips and dips are always...
Read moreThis was my first visit here and WOW on the probably the busiest day ever Cinco De Mayo. I will not rate the restaurant low due to one person's actions, HOWEVER, our FIRST waitress Jennifer seem to be having an overwhelming day as expected and it showed in her attitude. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCE SUCH A TERRIBLE WAITRESS IN ALL MY LIFE. After having a quick conversation with her stating i know its a bit busy but your attitude is very bad she proceeded to huff puff roll her eyes and say i can just get you a new waitress and REFUSED to come back to the table. We had been sitting for well over an hour without any food ordered. Mind you we were not demanding or rushing her at all because we knew they were busy. Finally a new waitress, MARIA, came out and she was on her "A" game. She had taken all of our orders (table of 10) and had the food out in like 20 minutes and that's given the fact our table was not in her section she had to take us because JENNIFER refused to do her job even after being asked by staff several times. The food was delicious and everyone was for the most organized and very attentive even on such a high volume day (except Jennifer of course). MARIA needs a raise she is awesome! I saw the restaurant was hiring so they may be short on waitresses my advice to them is to hire a replacement for JENNIFER ASAP she is...
Read moreI don’t know why when I travel to Valdosta for work, I want Mexican food. Maybe because I see an abnormal number of Mexican restaurants on yelp when I’m search in this area. Well this visit, I found El Cazador.
When I got to the restaurant, I was immediately intrigued by the outside. They have deers on the building which is pretty different, but hey I enjoy different so why not give it a go. I guess it ties in nicely to the name El Cazador “the hunter”.
When I went inside, I was seated by a very nice server. I made it a the tail end of lunch, so the restaurant wasn’t busy. I perused through the menu and found something that caught my eye, the fajita quesadilla.
The quesadilla was good. Similar to many other Mexican restaurants that I’ve been to. I guess you can reinvent the wheel, but I still enjoyed the food. Also, a special shot out to the salsa. I love good salsa and this was very tasty with just the right amount of heat. Don’t forget the fresh tortillas chips fresh...
