The long story short is, I came to this shop based on the great reviews, but I ended up being sold a dress under a false pretense that I wasn't able to wear for my wedding - I ended up needing to buy a second dress elsewhere.
The long version of the story is, I purchased a dress from Your Big Day from Kylan in March of 2024 for a wedding in August. The dress I tried on and enjoyed the style of most was too small - I was told it was only about one size difference - and didn't zip up all the way in the back. Most of you reading must be thinking, "Why would you buy a WEDDING DRESS that doesn't fit you? Isn't that stupid?" You'd be correct. But Kylan assured me that the alterations I wanted to make - taking off some of the train to make the back of the dress bigger - would be able to be done with the dress I picked. Since I had that assurance from Kylan, it seemed like the best option for my wedding dress, and I bought it. Of course, all sales are final, but this was going to be my dream dress. Why wouldn't I keep it?
Kylan gave me the number and name of their in-house seamstress, who I made an appointment with the next week. When I put the dress back on in store, the seamstress told me the alteration I wanted was impossible. She said the dress was far too small, and even if it wasn't, the cost of taking the stitches off the sides of the dress to add more cloth from the train to make it wider would cost over the price I paid for the dress - again, non-refundable. She even asked me, "Why would you buy a dress that doesn't fit you?"
I was shocked, standing in the store I bought the dress from, after being told the alterations it would need TO FIT were possible, only to be told by another employee that they would not be possible.
The seamstress left the changing room so I could get dressed, and I overheard her talking to Kylan, the only other person in the store at the time. The seamstress was telling Kylan she'd never had to say no to a customer alteration request before, and that she'd never seen someone purchase a dress that was that wrong of a size before. I could hear Kylan giggling with her.
Which means, Kylan either lied to me to get an easy sale or is wildly incompetent at her job. I was almost $2,000 down. I left and cried. What was I supposed to do - try and demand a refund when the policy is no refunds? I am not confrontational, but my heart was shattered.
I didn't give up right away - I went to four other seamstresses hoping the alterations could in fact be made, but I was told the size was too far off (it was 6 sizes wrong, as it turns out) and I was declined at every single one. I ended up purchasing a new dress elsewhere with a team that made sure it not only fit, but to talk with their seamstress about alterations before proceeding with a sale.
I came in to get a dress for my "Big Day" as the shop headlines it, but ended up feeling like this business should be called "Your Big Scam". Almost $2,000 for a dress the bride couldn't even wear is egregious, and Kylan should be ashamed for pushing a sale like that. Not to mention that I was trying to decide between two dresses, and she offered a slight discount if I'd bought both. She was after a sale, and she got one at my expense.

Read moreI really wanted to like this Bridal shop, but every experience I had was incredibly stressful and unsatisfactory. The shop is beautiful, and they do offer some incredible gowns. However from the very start, things did not go well for me. I was never asked what my budget was, and therefore many of the dresses that the owner brought to me were outside of my price point. I ultimately found the dress I wanted here, and Anna did offer me a discount if I were to rent the suits through her as well, which I did. I chose to have my dress altered by the seamstress who worked with the shop (she was fantastic) and Anna instructed me to just call before my appointment to confirm that my dress had come in. I did call and was guaranteed by one of the employees that my dress would be there in time and that my appointment was in the books. However when I showed up for the appointment, I was informed that my dress did not come in, although no one bothered to tell me, even though it was obvious the she booked someone else for my appointment slot. I shrugged it off and just rescheduled. While the seamstress was fantastic, Anna had told me what to expect for a cost for a hem for the dress I chose, but it was more than double what she had prepared me for. As for my experience with the suits, this was actually much worse. She seemed to not have a good way of keeping tack of everything and told us a few times that she needed payment for something that had already been paid for. Including my fathers suit being shipped directly to him, since he lived out of town. I am confident that if I had not reminded her about this, it would not have happened. Anna measured everyone but my father for their suits, so I was shocked when the suits arrived just days before the wedding how many mistakes there were with the sizes, and not because of weight gain or weight loss. We're talking about pants that were too long or shirts that way too short for their arms. My husband's Jacket was FAR too large, yet Anna insisted that it looked just fine. When we asked her to order a specific size replacement she initially refused only offering a size she thought would be better, but after many tense conversations she finally agreed to order an extra jacket. This smaller jacket that we insisted on was ultimately the jacket that worked and that he wore on our wedding day. The jacket showed up just an hour shy of when had to be at our wedding venue for the rehearsal the day before the wedding. While everything worked out in the end, It was not worth the stress that was caused, especially so close to the wedding. Weddings are already so stressful as it is, and I hate to think what would have happened if I had trusted Anna and hadn't been so persistent about the right jacket size. I would not recommend...
Read moreMy son Noah had prom April 29th. He is a junior in high school this year. From March, I had lightly mentioned to my son, if you're planning to go to prom this year, we need to research tuxedo shops. Start looking at styles of tuxes and make our appointment well in advance. To make a long story short, he told me 11 short days before prom that he decided he was going. I was completely surprised, because I think it's pretty much almost too late to find a tuxedo on such short notice. And especially a cool stylish one.
Men's warehouse had appointments in May. I was frustrated that my son told me much too late. I searched the internet and I found a place called Your Big Day. Their rating is 4.9 out of 5 stars, which is so rightly deserved. I called them up. The lady on the phone answered. She was amazing. She said I could come in immediately that day. After school my son and I went immediately to the shop. We were given a few catalogs to go through and we found an extremely cool tuxedo, slim fit stylish really nice modern looking tuxedo. The woman who helped us her name was Kylan. She deserves five stars. She measured my son like a pro. She was so professional. So kind. So friendly. So reassuring. We got that suit ordered. She rushed that suit order and we got it on Wednesday and we got to keep it until the day of prom which was Saturday the 29th and she just told us to return it the next day which was today Sunday April 30th.. We returned it at 12:00 noon and it was easy peasy.
I think bridal is their main business. But for any mothers of sons out there looking for a tuxedo rental for prom, I would definitely not sleep on this shop. We will be coming back here next year for Noah's senior prom. Many thanks to the amazing and wonderful Kylan. Noah's suit fit like a glove. And he had a...
