Van's Lotus Nails Spa — Attraction in Verona

I decided to do a regular mani/pedi here because the nails had gotten so brittle from the last time I had gotten gel here before. The first time I had gotten gel mani/pedi, it looked decent but I had a similar experience to this most recent visit.

Just an FYI, if you ever get a mani+pedi of any type, one technician will do your manicure at the same time another technician will do your pedicure. This is probably to save time/efficiency but other salons I’ve been and what I thought was standard was pedicure first, then move you to a regular chair to get your manicure done while the pedicure dries. Instead, the person doing your manicure will sit on the side of the massage chair, forcing you to bring both hands to their side. I felt uncomfortable not having my hands free during the pedicure, and having to cross my arms over to one side.

Both technicians were very aggressive with filing off the previous gel polish with the drill. At some points, the file drill went over my skin. They were also very forceful in cutting cuticles. I had previous hangnails on my hands that the technician was still not gentle around. The technician doing my pedicure had cut into my skin where I started bleeding. The area she had cut into, is now sore when I wear any type of shoe. Granted, at the time, she apologized but this is not acceptable.

The nail polish is streaky and uneven especially near the tips of the nails, causing easy chipping. I don’t think they did a topcoat, or if they did, it was so thin and done so quickly that it was barely enough to finish/protect the nail.

So if you come here, you will get cut and your nails will look mediocre if you do...

Horrible customer service by Sue - If you value your time & want to be given respect as a paying customer - don't come here.

I got my nails done here for a while by Sue. Anytime I had an issue with my nails (weird shape, uneven polish, etc) I couldn't mention it without her getting mad at me & defensive. She is rude & disrespectful to the paying customer. If you ask her to change something she has to make nasty remarks like "I will do it because you asked but if it comes out bad you will have to pay again for me to redo it" or "That doesn't look nice but I'll do it because you asked" Just unnecessary comments that aren't needed or respectful.

The final straw was the other day when she forgot a step & my nails came out completely messed up. I brought it to her attention & she had the nerve to tell me "Go look at the camera to see that I didn't miss that" & "To not come back since I don't like it" I left there crying & couldn't believe that she can be so rude to people who are paying for a service. Needless to say, I will not be coming back & I will also be making it known that people should not come to this nail salon. They also never take appointments on time because they are constantly taking walk-ins. Even when you are the first appointment of the day, every employee is late & your appointment is not on time.

Sue is rude, does not run this place well & needs to learn how to treat paying customers with respect. If I could give a 0 star...

My first experience here was awesome. My daughter made us an appointment. When we arrived we were all set. Loved it.

Today my experience was horrible. I called made the appointment and choose who I wanted for my Gel manicure. When I arrived they sent me to the pedicure area. No biggie. The young lady was so rough!!!!! I said you’re being rough she apologized and continue to be rough. She seemed to have an attitude. It was few different things. She never drained the water and started cleaning her utensils in the same water from the pedicure as well as splashing me with the water. All while my feet were in the UV machine. I asked are you new, she said yes.

. I informed the lady at the first table I did not want the pedicure person to do my gel manicure I made an appointment to have a specific person do my manicure. I guess this went on deaf ears because although I had an appointment I had to wait until the gentleman I had Not requested was available to do my manicure. While he was pleasant and much more gentle then the pedicure person. The overall experience was horrible. I paid the price and left. I wanted to do a full service, eyebrows as well but the Service was so disappointing. What was the purpose of an appointment or asking me...
