This review is based off of my purchase/interaction this morning (5/9/2024 @7:30 AM) with the manager named Veronica at HEB Plus on Navarro.
I travel across Texas biweekly frequenting Austin, San Antonio and Victoria. Today was the first day I purchased Ozarka 5 gallons from this location. More often than not, machines that distribute the tickets when returning the 5 gallon jugs are either out of tickets or not functioning properly. The HEB's I frequent in Austin and San Antonio understand this and always trust when I say that my Ozarka 5 gallon jugs are exchanges. Here, I cannot say that was the case.
When purchasing my exchanges today, I asked for an exchange rate and was denied. I explained how I do not live in Victoria and that the HEB's I normally exchange at have machines that do not normally distribute tickets. Veronica the manager (whom I explained this situation to) did not believe me and her only response was "You need the tickets for the exchange". I can say that I’ve never met a more unpleasant manager as a Texan who has shopped at HEB my entire life.
To be honest, it wasn't the fact I had to pay full price but the exchange between Veronica and myself that is upsetting. Why would I lie about 5 gallon water exchanges out of all things? Why didn't Veronica believe me? Is it normal for HEB managers to act this way or is Veronica a special case of unpleasantness? Why didn't she offer to view my previous transactions using my credit card where I made previous Ozarka exchanges at other HEB locations just last week? Veronica's attitude reminded me of a Hall Monitor with a power hungry struggle.
It's unfair that the inconsistency of the tickets distributed at the jug returns throughout HEB's in Texas is a factor when I run into the Veronica's out there. I hope other customers don’t experience this type of attitude in the future. Y’all...
Read moreBeware of this locations lack of support for their Veteran employees. My mother is an employee who has PTSD, and I contacted Tonya with management to inform her my mother was having severe issues today with her illness of psychosis, and that we were trying to get her help and she may need to be off of work a few days. My Mom enjoys her job, and when she is in her right mind she would not want to risk losing it. However, she is currently not in her right mind, and I wanted the store to be able to cover my Mom's shifts and not be put in a bind as well as secure my Mom's position there. Tonya informed me that she appreciated my call, however it was their policy the actual employee had to call them in order to protect their job. Well guess what Tonya, that is a little tough when she threw her phone out of the window of a car and thinks people are after her. Maybe Tonya and HEB should educate themselves on PTSD and psychosis when they hire Veterans and be a little more understanding and sensitive to the matter instead of just allowing themselves the credit as an establishment that supports Veterans and hires them. I also called the head HR department in San Antonio hours ago and left a VM with no call back thus far. Do yourself a favor if you are a Veteran and NO NOT WORK FOR HEB, or do yourself a favor if you are a customer there and/or a Veteran or family member of a Veteran and shop elsewhere. They...
Read moreThe absolutely horrible!!! HEB plus I tried the curbside today and it was ridiculous I waited for over an hour for my groceries. My time slot was from 6:30 to 7:00.. after waiting so long I decided to call which also took a long time for someone to answer. A manager finally answered I did not get her name unfortunately but she said she was working on my order I told her I had been waiting for over an hour and then she said that i had a lot of "cold stuff and produce" (hello it's groceries)so it was taking longer because my order was big and they were short handed today. So then I told her that there was other cars that got there after me and left before me.. why am I still waiting when everyone else is just coming and going.. again she said i had a big order ...then what are the time slots for if your not going to honor them "If your order is to big" thats ridiculous and stupid!! I then told her I wanted a refund because i was not going to wait any longer then she had the nerve to tell me not to leave because she would "have to put everything back" not my problem! Yall should honor the time slot customer choose or the very least let them know your running behind. She then offered me a $20 gift card if I didn't leave no thanks i waited long enough $20 is not going to make up for leaving my car on for over an hour and wasting my time!! So much for convenient and fast. Never again!!! Totally...
