Princess Jewelers — Attraction in Vienna

I first visited Princess Jewelers in 1997, and began purchasing fine jewelry from them in 1998, starting with my wife's engagement ring and our wedding rings.

Twenty years later, Princess Jewelers is still owned by the same family, the same people are still working in the store, and the jewelry that they produce is still fabulous. In 1999, I moved 312 miles away, to the western side of West Virginia. Where do my wife and I buy our jewelry today? The same place we have since 1998 - Princess Jewelers, in Vienna VA.

We have worked with Lim, Mona and Sonny in the past, and most recently, we worked with Sitha, while also chatting with Lim. They are truly genuine and wonderful people!

Over the years, we have purchased single diamonds, wedding rings, tennis bracelets, diamond necklaces, diamond earrings and a diamond anniversary band. Most recently, we upsized my wife's engagement diamond, and added two diamond eternity bands. The diamonds are always GIA-certified, and the settings are always beautiful. Princess Jewelers always has expert craftsmen on site (even on Saturday), so they can ALWAYS set diamonds or repair/clean jewelry while you wait. Nothing is ever "sent out".

After 19 years of marriage, my wedding ring (purchased from Princess Jewelers, of course) had grown too tight for my finger, and I found that I could no longer remove it (big knuckles). So, we decided that it was time for me to upgrade my wedding ring. I had been looking on the Internet at different men's diamond ring designs (I'd never buy on the Internet - just looked), and settled on something that I liked a lot. 14K gold with channel-set diamonds all the way around (eternity ring). I put a photo onto my iPad, and off to Princess Jewelers we went. While there, on a Saturday, we first upsized my wife's diamond, trading-in the old one, and she picked out a new setting. The craftsmen placed the diamond in the new setting while we browsed and chatted, and it was beautiful. We also asked for two diamond eternity rings to go on either side of the diamond ring, which Sitha designed for us.

I then had the craftsmen cut off my wedding ring, and asked if they could please "reassemble" it, just to have as a keepsake. I showed Sitha the picture of the mens gold and diamond eternity wedding band that I brought, and we looked at some similar items they had there, just so she could get an idea of my likes and dislikes. Sitha suggested 14K gold, with a strip of platinum on either side of the diamond channel, and 24 channel-set diamonds. These rings take a little time to construct, obviously, so we headed home, secure and happy in our purchase.

About a week and a half later, we received my wife's two new diamond eternity rings and my diamond eternity wedding band. They are all truly beautiful, as we knew they would be. Even now, a month later, we are still thrilled whenever we look at our beautiful jewelry from Princess Jewelers. I look at my wedding ring as I write this, and it is absolutely gorgeous.

Long story short, don't waste your time looking for jewelry on the Internet, as you'll be disappointed (check the company names at the Better Business Bureau if you don't believe me). I also suggest that you don't waste your time shopping at jewelry chains, where you will meet a different salesperson on EVERY visit.

When I finally decided to propose to my girlfriend after 6 years of dating, I was clueless about where to find a ring. I was referred to Princess Jewelers by a friend of mine, who recently got married. I decided to check it out, not knowing anything about this kind of thing, and I was not disappointed. I met Sitha, who suggested that I design a custom ring with her. I was quite apprehensive as I did not know anything about ring design, but Sitha helped me every step of the way. She spent lots of time teaching me about settings and diamond quality and going over the different ring options with me. I had a pretty strict budget and she worked with me to make sure I got the best design and quality within my budget. She never tried to push me past my limit and instead, gave me options that were within my reach. Her attention to detail was absolutely phenomenal. We discussed every single detail of the ring and she would re-sketch the design every time we would make a change. She even called me after a design visit to confirm again that I wanted four prongs and not six prongs. She truly wanted my ring to be exactly what I was picturing. One of my original worries with designing a custom ring was that I thought that it would take months to make. However, I was able to get my ring done from scratch in a little over a week, which was amazing. Sitha promised to make the ring exactly how I wanted it and even said she would redo it over and over again until I was happy, but when I saw the ring for the first time, I knew it was already perfect.
