I don’t usually write negative reviews, but after dealing with a lot of back-and-forth and stress during my wedding planning, I feel it’s important to share my experience to help others avoid unnecessary frustration. When I first visited this store, the staff was friendly and helpful in finding my bridal gown. The dress was a bit loose around my hips, but they assured me that alterations would take care of it. They had a tailor come in to pin the areas that needed adjusting, and I felt confident that everything would be taken care of. However, things started to go downhill when I returned for my fitting, which was scheduled for two weeks before my wedding. To my surprise, the dress was extremely tight and didn’t look good on me at all and they admitted. They told me not to worry and that they would take care of it. After more back-and-forth, I was asked to come back the next day to meet with their "special tailor" to discuss options. At this point, I had already paid $300 for alterations, but I was told I needed to pay an additional $400 for more work. The entire situation became confusing, and I felt pressured into agreeing to more expensive changes. I tried to explain that this was an unexpected cost, especially since the original alterations had caused the issues, but the manager/owner raised her voice at me and was very unprofessional. I had to show them photos of the original fitting to prove that the dress was altered incorrectly. To make matters worse, when I returned to the store to pick up the dress, I was completely ignored by the owner/manager. I saw her briefly from the back of the store, but she clearly made no effort to come out or speak with me, despite the fact that I had been a paying customer. The other staff members were cold and distant, and there was no attempt to show any sympathy for the frustration I had gone through. It was incredibly disappointing, and I felt completely brushed off. In the end, I decided to take the dress to another tailor, who fixed it for just $100. It was a huge relief to finally have the dress fit properly without the added stress. While the store has nice dresses, my overall experience with the alterations and customer service was extremely disappointing. The constant back-and-forth, unexpected charges, and poor treatment made what should have been an exciting time much more stressful. I hope this review helps others make an...
Read moreI was very disappointed in my overall experience trying on dresses at White Swan. They carried so many designers I was interested in, which is why I chose them. I received a very friendly welcome when I arrived but everything seemed rushed. One of the consultants asked me what kind of dress I am looking for, but only let me say 2 things before asking for pictures and then only looked at one picture. Then she asked what my budget was and made a face when I said under $2k before ushering me to look at dresses on mannequins. After rushing me through selecting 7 or so dresses, she told me to go downstairs. Downstairs, there is a lone "changing room" with a curtain instead of a door and barely enough space for the dresses (none of which were poofy), which I kept stepping and tripping on when changing. There is nowhere to put your clothes except the floor or a filthy windowsill behind a curtain. The consultant that helped me with trying on dresses was not the one who helped me choose dresses, so she had no idea what I was looking for outside what dresses had already been brought down (unless they spoke about it, but it didn't seem like it). Trying dresses on also felt rushed and not very pleasant, the mirrors were right by the entrance/exit, so there was a steady flow of people moving through and several stopped and watched my appointment and made kind comments. I was flattered, but still felt awkward. The consultant was talking on her Bluetooth half of the appointment. There were also multiple times where she unclipped me while still in front of the mirror, leaving me to hold the bodice on, which was very embarrassing with my father present. Don't get me wrong, the consultant offered helpful advice and assisted me in many positive ways, but that was tainted by some major issues. The most unfortunate part was that I found my dream dress during this appointment. I will be ordering the dress from another store because I can't justify spending my money after such a...
Read moreLet me start by saying the consultant (Karika?) was great: very accommodating and sweet. She did her best to make this a good experience.
You should know that the bridal shop is small. There is one 2 sided mirror which has a large open side and a side almost shoved against a bridal rack. As there was a bride and flower girls getting a fitting on the other side we were on the small side (understandable just felt a bit cramped like I had to avoid stepping on dresses to move around the bride) but we were moved once they were gone.
The selection of gowns were beautiful however there is only one of each and they all are typical mannequin size unless you go through the clearance rack. If you have or are a larger bride please keep this in mind.
This brings me to the real problem, the reason this store could've had a better review and now I just have to advise brides to be wary of this place or just stay away: the older woman. Idk if she is a manager or the owner but she couldn't have been more uncouth.
This woman was very happy to help the other bride and seemed very helpful to her but for us she ruined the experience. My sister was in her first dress and wasn't quite feeling it so we were trying to figure out what she does and doesn't like. This woman comes up asking what's wrong with the dress and just seems rushed and unimpressed. She pulls a dress that she liked and closer to what the bride wanted and was quickly ushered into the dressing room. She then whispered something in a snarky tone RIGHT outside the changing room. While I didn't here it the bride couldn't help it and it was something to the nature of "She's just too big for any of our dresses."
I think our associate caught it as she went into customer service overload but damage was done. We walked out knowing we wouldn't go back but now had a better understanding of what the bride...
