Beach Eye Care — Attraction in Virginia Beach

We love Beach Eye care! Our family has been coming for years and we highly recommend! They are extremely friendly and patient. My niece is a new patient and I was having a hard and very lengthy time getting the insurance information and they went above and beyond helping me get the info I needed and being patient with me while I was on the phone trying to track down the info needed. Not once did they get irritated or try to reschedule us. Kaydy and Kristi are amazing and they both are helpful and fun every time! Our Optometrist, Dr. Coffin is brilliant too! I truly can not say enough nice things about him. We have been seeing him over a year now and he remembers us and explains everything to us. He takes his time and genuinely cares about his patients and never makes us feel rushed or left with any questions. He offers solutions and is extremely exceptional in what he does. The girl Jada that helped with out contacts was sweet and patient helping my niece more then once with her new contacts and was just really impressed with the staff. Cutler is brilliant, he helped us with our glasses and he also exceeds anyone’s expectations and goes above and beyond. Fixing my very scratched glasses like a magician and was just really helpful, educated on everything and helped us choose and understand the lenses and prescription glasses we were getting. This location is very easy and convenient if you live in Red Mill - plenty of parking, new and updated strip mall located near Target and Navy Federal.

They have a late day of the week where the staff are all there until 8pm which is great if you are like me and work in Norfolk full-time and can't always make daytime appointments. This means I don't have to leave work early for a 6:30 appointment!

The wait times can be long sometimes if you are doing everything all at once or an annual - but I've usually only waited about 15-20 minutes to be seen and I read a magazine or browse their large eyeglass selections. Last night I waited less than 10 minutes to be called back for my comprehensive eye exam.

I then had a contact lens fitting and made small talk with the nice gals back there. The doctor came in and we had a great talk while she did her exam and went over the images from the scans with me of my eye and said all was well. She was very personable and friendly.

I ordered contacts which will be billed to my insurance, mailed to me, and have a rebate for $75!

I love this location and haven't really ever had a bad experience here and have been coming here yearly for 5 years.

Update - I came for my annual today and saw Dr. Coffin who is super nice and I’ve been seeing him for a few years now.

I then ordered new frames and lenses from Wendy who was super nice and helpful. Got some gorgeous new glasses for a good price. Will pick them up...

I had a 3pm appointment at the Redmill location. The technician who checked my eyes for new prescription was great. Then I sat in Dr exam room for about 20 minutes. An employee came in and said I wasn’t forgotten about and Dr should be right in. Another 10 minutes goes by and nobody showed up. So I walked out and asked if I could get my prescription and go and I was told no because Dr has to sign off on it. Dr said she would be another 5 to 10 minutes. I’m sure after 10 minutes it would’ve been another 10. I’ve read where people have waited over 2 hours. Absolutely unacceptable to have someone come in and wait that long. Appointment confirmation says you will be charged $50 for missed appointment. Are they going to pay me $50 for taking off work early to come and waste my time. I feel bad for the employees there that have to deal with the Dr who can’t manage her time professionally and probably urges to overbook patients just to make money. They don’t care how long you have to wait...I filed a ethics complaint with anthem. My family and I will not be...
