Did you see the ambulance outside? Because this ice cream is to die for!
Where do I even begin with Be Free, the so-called “ice cream” place that is obviously just a front for pure, unadulterated deliciousness? Don’t even get me started on the pastries and cookies. I went in for a simple scoop, and left questioning my entire existence.
First off, let’s talk about the fact that BE Free is veteran-owned. Like, really? You’re telling me that after serving his country, Chris decided to serve up the most dangerously addictive sweets on the planet? I was prepared for a battle of the bulge, but I didn’t expect to lose so quickly and deliciously.
Onto the ice cream. Be Free’s ice cream is clearly some kind of sorcery. It’s the kind of dreamy, out-of-this-world goodness that makes you wonder if they’re sneaking in some kind of happiness drug. Every bite is a rollercoaster of flavor that has you questioning if you’ve actually ever tasted ice cream before.
And the pastries? Let’s just say, if you think you’re walking out of there without a dozen cookies stuffed into your pockets like a sugar-crazed squirrel, you’re sorely mistaken. These pastries are like little clouds of joy sent down from the dessert gods. You’ll try to resist. You’ll fail. And then you’ll wonder why you ever even tried.
So, in conclusion, don’t go to Be Free unless you’re ready to become a dessert addict. It’s a trap. A delicious, veteran-crafted, sugar-filled trap. Enter at your own risk—and bring extra napkins. Trust me,...
Read moreBe Free Craft Ice Cream Cafe is a very WELCOME addition to the community I live in. First off, when you walk in, the atmosphere is top notch. The place is as clean and sanitary feeling as it comes. You are greeted with a smile and welcomed into the establishment. The service is also top notch, often times when I visit the owner of the establishment is in there hustling to make sure everything is running as smooth as possible, the staff were friendly and always making sure to explain any questions about the food. The ice cream and gelato are to die for. I particularly enjoy the nice twist to the naming conventions of the sweets. There are plenty of Gluten Free and Vegan options to choose from. Be Free has also ensured to source it's coffee and items from other LOCAL establishments. This is true, grass roots, entrepreneurship, not an easy task. I am really glad that this place exists in a world of chains that often times don't pay attention to the details and ensure that the satisfaction of the customer is always the primary goal. If you are looking for a great place to get amazing coffee, has old school service and is VETERAN OWNED and OPERATED, I would make it a point to continue to visit as often as possible. 10/10,...
Read moreWe were in town visiting family who recommended this incredible family-owned ice cream shop and we are so glad they did! In fact, we ended up coming back FOUR times on our trip because it was seriously that good! Owned by a veteran and staffed by the kindest people, this is a shop I will be recommending to everyone.
The staff went above and beyond, especially with our kids — letting them try as many flavors as they wanted (and trust me, they wanted to try a lot!). Every single flavor we sampled was amazing, but our family favorites were the Reese’s Reloaded, Oatmeal Sea Salt Maple, Cookie Comandough, and Oreo Black Raspberry.
We also tried the Sea Salt Maple Coffee (SO good) and treated ourselves to a Biscoff Butter Cookie Pop Tart and Blueberry Pie Pastry — both house made, fresh, and delicious!
The shop itself is cute, cozy, and laid-back. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, you absolutely need to make this place a stop. The heart behind the business, the amazing staff, and the incredible ice cream make it a 10/10 experience.
Thank you for making our vacation extra sweet — we’ll be dreaming about this place until...
