I can't speak as to the skill of the doctors on staff here but I can speak to the interaction I encountered when I attempted to be seen for my appointment today. I was very displeased that after using my leave from work and driving to my appointment, that I was informed that they don't accept my vision insurance. This might have been an acceptable response had they not asked me for ALL of my insurance and personal data when I made the appointment. This also comes after I specifically asked if they take my vision plan insurance and I was told that they did. Equally off-putting was the fact that they tried to get me to keep my appointment and tell me I could just pay out of pocket for the appointment. Exactly who in their right mind is going to pay out of pocket when you pay for the high-option vision plan insurance? It definitely made me feel like they knew full well that they didn't take my insurance but they thought they would get me to pay anyways since I was already there. They then tried to say they tried to reach me to tell me this and said they didn't have an email address for me on file even though I had previously provided that info when making the appointment and they had texted and emailed me several times before my appointment and didn't feel the need to mention the fact that they didn't take my vision plan. Bearing in mind that I had given them my compete insurance info down to my plan name, plan and member numbers when making said appointment. Which all boils down to a complete waste of my time and now I have to try and find an appointment elsewhere, further wasting my time and time off work. Maybe not a big deal to some but be forewarned, triple check to make sure they take your insurance because they certainly will not. My recommendation to this business moving forward is to be transparent with their patients when they are making their appointments as to whether you take their insurance and don't waste their time or money. Most of us work very hard for it and don't appreciate being felt taken...

This gave me great comfort since my immune sys is very compromised. I loved how I was quickly helped to find glasses that were just right for me in all my areas of interest. The expertise & care I received from "Kimmie" who fitted me with the most comfortable glasses I have ever owned! She answered all my questions and was willing to experiment with me to try different styles. Her friendliness & professionalism was outstanding. The ladies at the front desk were always very helpful & friendly. I asked for their vote too with my choices of 2 pairs, which they gladly gave. My exam by Dr. Willcoxon was the best! I am disabled & she made sure i was comfortable while performing a thorough examination & testing. The script she provided for my new glasses were "spot on". All my questions & concerns were answered patiently without any rush. She is a friendly Doctor who clearly cares for those needing her help.
I had been to Gilbert Eyecare back in the 1980's and was pleased but then I relocated. For years out of the area, I used other practices but was never satisfied. I had many bad experiences that ran the gamut. Then I decided to drive the extra miles and return to Gilbert. The girl who assisted with my eye exam was polite, friendly, and knew what she was doing. Dr. Gilbert was funny, friendly, and very thorough in explaining what was going on, the difference he could make in my vision, and the proper times to wear my glasses. Then I went to the front to shop for glasses. They make it extremely easy to try things on. Unlike other eye glass retailers, Gilbert Eye Care wants you to feel comfortable and they want to give the best experience, not just sell you something. The optician was very sweet, she started by asking what kind of frames I was looking for then picked several pairs out of the various displays and brought them to me to try on. I did not have to browse and become overwhelmed with choices. Once I tried on the initial selection and she got a better idea of what I was looking for, she was able to pick even more out that I liked.
