Staff was friendly, atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and clean. The artifacts were interesting, and the displays grab your attention throughout the museum, so you're being drawn in to want to learn what you're looking at.... simple way to educate curious teenagers on the history of the town. I am happy I brought the kids there!

I live in Gloucester but haven't been to the museum in years. I ended up there one day to drop something off and saw that there are many new displays, including one about local Girl Scouts, one about the TC Walker mural and one about a local waterman who carved decoys. The museum is slowly getting an overhaul and it really tells a lot about Gloucester that I certainly didn't know. It's worth stopping by. They don't have long hours so check ahead of time. It's free to get in but they...

I went here today mostly out of curiosity. I didn't know the last and largest calvary battle of the revolutionary war happened in Gloucester, Virginia. The battle involved the British colonel Tarleton. The same on in the Movie THE PATRIOT. The stairs going up to the second floor is quite steep but we'll...
