I am so happy that there's a pho spot with great food and drinks 5 minutes away from home 😍 we just found out about this spot, and it's been open for 2 months now. We are definitely huge fans now! I've captioned my pics, and I'm happy to be able to do a take-out review. I feel that restaurants usually slack in the take out department, but that was not the case here. The presentation was amazing, containers are of great takeout quality, and they added packaged utensils, chopsticks, hoisin sauce, siracha and napkins. They were bagged neatly with the cutest receipt and sticker placed on the bag. I love that they put so much care into their takeout, as they do their food. 5 stars for takeout! I'll break it down per dish for the actual food review.
P2: This dish only comes in one size (large) considering all the meat that comes with it. The short rib was nice and tender, not the most tender I've ever had, but great size and flavor. The brisket and eye round were a bit on the chewy side for my liking, but pleased with the quantity for the price point. This came with a lot of noodles, the veggies were fresh, limes were juicy and the broth was wonderful. This was a solid portion size for the price, and I still very much enjoyed it, despite the texture of the meat. Don't let that deter you! I am definitely still giving this place it's props!
P9 - The meat here was peak quality. The flavor was amazing, and so nice and tender. The veggies and broth were wonderful and my hubby very much enjoyed his bowl. I will have to say, next time I intend to go with this one because that meat was amazing. This bowl was definitely worth the price!
Dragon Fruit Tea - I really loved the aroma from the tea in that drink. It is a bit on the sweeter side, but I did add coconut jelly (which were delicious) so I'm not complaining. I do want to go back and try it without any toppings, because the fruit and tea flavors were right up my alley with this drink. I enjoyed this very much!
Mango Sticky Rice - Now, this dish? I have to give them so much love for. They did this dish RIGHT! The mango was actually ripe, and sliced into these beautifully thin strips that made it easy to portion out with the coconut milk and sticky rice. Ugghh I cannot express how happy I am, because since moving to VA, I've not been able to find a place that makes this dish correctly. And how the Gods have favored me for placing this restaurant 5 minutes away from my home 😭 the sticky rice was beautifully made, and I intend on asking for an extra side of the coconut milk to truly enjoy it the way I personally love it.
Overall, please come and try this spot out! I am giving them all their flowers, and the customer service was top tier from my call in to hubby picking our order up....
Read moreI don't usually share reviews of pho places unless they really impress me, and this place really did it for me. The staff is very welcoming and seem super happy to work here. I ordered the usual fresh garden rolls and a large P-10 pho with thin grilled beef, eye round and brisket. The rolls came out super quick and you can tell it was freshly made by how soft the wrapping was. Now on to the pho. First impression: wow! It was a large bowl for sure but the portion of meat was more than fair! I'm not used to seeing this much in one bowl, so it was a pleasant surprise. The broth was extremely flavorful and satisfying to the point where even if I was starving (and I was) a small bowl would have probably felt like too much. I don't regret getting the big one. I did eat all the meat and a little more than half the noodles, but that hearty broth really filled me up. So tasty.
I asked about the bahm mi, and it looks like this is one of those rare places that does it completely pork free for all you kosher/halal folks out there. The pate they use is chicken liver, and the choice of meat is chicken, beef, or pork. So I might have to come back and get one for lunch 😋. Oh, and they do boba teas here, so definitely come over and grab any of their amazing flavor choices (including pumpkin for the...
Read moreI was a little worried when looking at the prices, but man is it worth it!!! Service was very nice and the food was amazing! VERY generous portions.
For starters we ordered the fried spring rolls with pork, the fresh rolls with grilled pork, and the fried dumplings... all were delicious and came out quickly. You can tell they made all of it in house! The thai iced tea was perfectly balanced as well.
For main courses we got the shrimp and crab fried rice - delicious and very fresh, no fishy-ness, and large portion. My daughter got the small pho with eye of round steak... tons of meat, but nothing compared to the pho I got with the short rib in it! Talk about a meat mountain! The rib was huge! Like having a meat lollipop!!
This place instantly became one of my favorites in Gloucester, and I'm very thankful I don't have to drive to newport news to get...
