The Cereal Plug — Restaurant in Gloucester Courthouse

Right when we walked in, the place looked messy. Tables were sticky, floors had spills that no one seemed in a rush to clean up, and there was an odd smell near the counter—not what you want when you're about to order food.

To make things worse, the girl behind the counter couldn't have cared less about us. She was on her phone literally the entire time and barely looked up to take our order. Felt like I was just interrupting her scrolling time. Terrible customer service.

When we finally got our ice cream it was just sloppily thrown together and tasted off. Cereal was stale and toppings were just questionable. Looked nothing like the pics posted.

Really, I feel grossed out and disappointed. Love supporting local businesses but honestly? McDonald’s ice cream tastes better and half the time their machine doesn’t even work. I visited “The Plug” last night pretty close to their closing time. When I walked in Lexi was cleaning up and getting ready for closing but welcomed me in with open arms for a late night sweet treat after my long day. She was informative and so kind as I asked about the flavors and felt nostalgic seeing Superman ice cream as one of their scoop flavors. I decided on the peanut butter cereal bowl and WOW! Lexi sure loaded up the cereal and topping and made sure to ask what kind of milk I liked. She then welcomed me to stay as she finished her closing duties but I ensured her I was heading home to curl up with this delicious dessert she just made for me. I came in with my wife and daughter along with a friend and there was the owner and her best friend behind the counter. Her best friend was AMAZING but the owner herself was rude and pushy. All she seemed to care about was the sale. The children were excited and dancing in the store cuz of the music playing and all she wanted was for them to go outside.

My daughter then got hurt outside and my wife went to the bathroom to try and clean her up ( her knee and hand was bleeding ) the owner was in the phone in the restroom and wouldn't let me daughter clean herself up. After spending about $60 there I felt very disrespected when leaving. We will never be back. Sorry not sorry.
