This is Chesterfield's all encompassing park, offering a wide variety of activities that cannot be found elsewhere in the county. Most of the amenities in the park are well maintained, though the park as a whole is a little bit outdated. The Nature Center is worth checking out if you're lucky enough to be there when it's open, and the trails are well marked, suitable, and more prevalent than most systems in the county. Unfortunately, the pond on the far side of the park suffers from overfertilization and lacks very many good viewpoints along the adjacent trail.

I love to walk through here from time to time. The trails are paved though there are some that are not. The park is clean and has various outdoor activities. The playground is large and shaded. Just beware of the bees, bug spray is a must in the summer. The dog park is large and it even features an archery range that a lot of people visit. My favorite is the lake that you can find off the orange path. Definitely a 4/5 in my book. Mainly a 4 out of 5 because it’s easy to get lost on the trails. So be careful and pay attention.

Nice park! My friend and my dog and I really enjoyed the trails. We went early afternoon on a Sunday in October. The dog park was meh, but Sunny isn't really into other dogs or closed in rectangles, we go for the people, he loves people. The sports fields were crazy busy but you'd never know it on the trails. Very peaceful with not many people. Trails range from asphalt to natural, and pretty hilly until you get down to the pond. Nice selection of native plants, though scarce. Fun to watch people enjoying the archery range.

Rockwood is a park with a little something for everyone. Playground for the little ones, dog park/play pens for the fur family, softball/baseball/cricket fields & basketball courts, tennis & pickleball courts, archery range & lastly, my favorite, the beautiful paved & unpaved trails. Trails are well maintained with shelters which can be rented/reserved for a variety of needs. Trail does have scenic views of Gregory’s pond, which is private without fishing privileges, but does provide lovely views.

Love this park!! So many things to do. Paved paths, unpaved paths, playgrounds, dog parks, pavilions, grills, tennis, pickleball, basketball, archery, and baseball fields and batting cages. Also has a nice nature center. If you live near this park and don’t regularly visit, you’re missing out on some quality fresh air activities.
