First time here. In addition to needing notary service, my daughter enjoyed her time in the children's area in addition to checking out several books. We normally visit the downtown Frederick location (C. Burr Arts?), but I envision we will definitely return to Walkersville. The staff was beyond accommodating, the facility was very clean, orderly, and our visit was a very pleasant experience. Also, as a "person of color," I was pleased to see quite a few book options in the children's area that focused on persons of special interest to me.

Bright, clean library with a great children's area. Librarians are so friendly here. Frederick libraries really adapted well to COVID, and still served us so well despite the circumstances. Offering wifi in the parking lot, offering curbside drop off/pick up (which we used a lot), outdoor story time, vaccine pop ups, free masks and tests. Libraries are truly one of the best public places/services that we have and Walkersville/FCPL is one of the greats.

A good place where kids can spend time to read and learn. Plus the staff is super helpful and sweet. There is also a nice place for toddler to play.

I am Mrs.Chong Won Kwak and today is June 24,2020. I just moved to the Frederick County Maryland area from Howard County Maryland in April 15,2020. I did not have chance to experience the Walkersville Maryland public library yet because of unpacking and then the Covid 19 lockdown. They are open now but with curbside books and resources pick-up. I recently requested a Frederick County Maryland public library access card for myself and my two sons because we had previously for the Howard County Maryland public library. I e-mailed the request and the employee , Katherine Stryker, responded and got my three library cards ready for me to call and schedule a curbside pick-up anytime. I called the next day to schedule a time to pick up my library cards that was ready for me and my two sons, but the library assistant, Amy, told me on the phone that I can go there anytime the next day to pick it up without a time appointment. She did not tell me the reason that I could not pick it up on that day I called when their website reads that the library closes at 8:00pm EST and I called 4:58pm EST. I asked to pick it up that day (which was yesterday June 24,2020) because we live a walking distance, but she would not for a neighbor, especially, when it is just them giving it outside in the parking lot curbside. I told her that I could drive my minivan and would be there in a minute, literally, that close to our new townhouse. I was respectful but it was wrong and all just want to give service when, how, where, etc. on the service persons wants. And the people are not friendly and do not talk with us and/or smile. And they are starting to hurt us with courts and lies with mocking trials as I am already going through and to my two male siblings who are married to Caucasian wife. And making situations that make it as if I am talking against my two male siblings and my parents, when I talk and call for any customer service. And it has...

When I drove up to pick up a book I had on hold, I was rudely asked if I had an appointment. I have picked up books on hold at this same library during covid and have never been asked about an appointment. The most recent was this last Saturday. The lady at the checkpoint made me feel that she would not allow me to get the book without an appointment. She made me feel that I was an inconvenience and that I had no right to be there. I am a taxpayer and have been using this branch for years. Normally they are wonderful......
