Village Tavern — Restaurant in Walkersville

Came in originally for dinner, but guest was new to Maryland and had not flipped her license so could not drink. Still, wanted to try the restaurant, and frankly shows a great staff when they actually card and respect things like ID turn laws. It can be difficult so good on them!

We ended up ordering two appetizers which were pretty…fine. The fried pickles were pretty tasty but hit or miss on batter, and with ranch as only side a bit didn’t really fill up. But sharing some cheese fries, this was a decent combo if not stellar. Really good for the price though and tremendous service, so can’t take away much more than a star - if prices were higher or such would, but totally easy, affordable dining.

My son and I had lunch there a week ago every thing was AMAZING! Always consistent!! Of course we couldn’t decide and we ordered too much food however the variety we got everything was perfect. My favorite every time I go is the stuffed flounder it is awesome I would like to order something else but I’m so hooked on that. Our server was very nice very friendly and very efficient she did an awesome job! I don’t know what it is about there’s a house salad but it’s the best that I’ve ever had. A favorite for our family that we recently rediscovered. Servers are helpful and will gladly answer all you questions. Burger plates are a meal in itself. Comes with fresh hand-cut-to-order Fries. You willnotbe disappointed. Most recently, I enjoyed and was pleasantly surprised by the Grilled cheese on Sourdough. Yum! Yum! Yes, deserves 2 Yums! One day we plan to save room for desert, although Paul deftly explained why he would not attempt a milkshake for us, (Note: milkshakes are NOT on the Menu).
