I want to tell you first of all that I love Costco but I had a very bad experience last week. 3 months ago we had purchased four pairs of eyewear. Recently I had a problem with one pair where the screw came out and I dropped them. I went back to Costco to get a repair. When I approached the optical center there were three people standing there with no customers I jokingly said to the person who approached me oh you must have drawn the Short straw. Because I had a problem I said here's the problem and show them to her she looked up the glasses saw that I had purchased them recently and check the ID number on the frame she then told me I can't do anything with this you have to buy a new frame I said but it only needs a screw. She didn't say that would not work and she doesn't know what screw it needs. I asked her if she would just try. She told me you understand this when you buy the glasses there is no warranty. Again repeating it only needs a screw. Why don't you just try she said no I can't do that! I suggested she take the screw out the other side and then she would know what it needed. She said it doesn't work that way. I asked her again, can't you just try she repeat it know you need to buy new frames. At that point I was pretty upset and I said give me my glasses I'm getting out of here. I went to customer service and spoke to the manager. He explained that they are really not Costco's glasses it's a separate business and there's nothing that he could do about that. He was polite and understood my problem. Just to mention the eyeglass case that they gave me says Kirkland and the cleaning cloth that comes in the case that says Costco. My insurance company said that they have arrangements with Costco for glasses. The person in optical simply did not want to do anything and there was no one else there she had nothing else to do. I got a $1 eyeglass repair kit at the dollar store they gave you an assortment of screws I tried two, the third one fit. I put the lens back in tighten it down and it works perfectly. I was able to do that in about 10 to 15 minutes and I am not a person that works in an optical department. I cannot express how very disappointed I am in the way I was treated at the Costco store which is on veterans highway in Warminster, Pa. Just to mention I also purchased hearing aids at that store, that department is also an outside franchise. But the people in that department treat you with respect and are very helpful in any need. Someone needs to talk to those people in the optical department in Warminster on...
Read moreI enjoy shopping at Costco with my Mother. The club membership was given to us as a birthday present - so it is a gift that keeps on giving. It is nice to sample some of the unfamiliar foods and brands as we shop. The sample vendors are always very polite and knowledgable about the products they are serving. I was very sorry to hear about Mr SIngh's unpleasant experience and his feeling that he was being discriminated against but I have to say that the only problem encountered by my Mother and I was exactly the opposite. During our first visit we received our membership cards but were still unfamiliar with how the store was run. When checking out the clerk who was ringing up our purchases was a middle aged gentleman of Asian/Indian descent - and was incredibly rude. Instead of listening to us, that both my Mother and I had membership cards, he seemed intent upon making an enormous issue of me making a purchase for a non-member, which was not the case. When he understood what the situation actually was he made no apology for either his misunderstanding or behaving as though we were criminals. When we then offered a credit card as payment (our mistake, we were unaware that Costco did not accept credit cards) the loud sighs of disgust, eye rolling and complete impatience would have been pretty offensive if they weren't so silly - still, I object to my Mother being shown such blatant and un-called for disresect when we were making every effort to be polite ourselves. The woman who was bagging our order was clearly embarrassed and offered several apologies soto voice. We have been back to the same Costco several times and seen the same clerk ringing up customers - and went to waiting lines much longer simply to avoid being around him. What a sour apple! To employ him in a position where he is a representative of a company, where he must routinely interact with other people is a mistake. I could not help but wonder if he was so rude to everyone he met or if he was born into a culture where women and elders were to be...
Read moreI've been a Costco member for years, and I can confidently say it's the best retail experience you can get. From the moment you walk through those massive doors, you're greeted by the sight of bulk goods at unbeatable prices.
Product Variety: Whether you're looking for groceries, electronics, furniture, or even a new tire for your car, Costco has it all. Their selection never ceases to amaze me, and I always find something new and exciting. The quality of products, especially their Kirkland Signature brand, rivals premium brands at a fraction of the cost.
Value for Money: The savings at Costco are real. Bulk buying means you're getting more for less, and their price tags often make other stores look overpriced. The membership fee more than pays for itself with just a couple of visits.
Customer Service: The staff at Costco are always friendly and helpful. I've had experiences where I needed to return items well past the return period, and they handled it with such professionalism and understanding. It's rare to find a place where customer service feels genuinely committed to customer satisfaction.
Food Court: No Costco review would be complete without mentioning the food court. Don't sleep on the pizza, chicken bakes, or their surprisingly good churros. It's a perfect spot for a quick, affordable meal after shopping.
Atmosphere: It's a unique blend of organized chaos. Yes, it can get busy, but there's something exhilarating about navigating those wide aisles. Plus, the samples on the weekends make shopping feel like a little adventure.
Membership Benefits: Beyond the store, the benefits like the Costco Travel, gas stations, and the pharmacy add so much value. You're not just buying products; you're buying into a whole ecosystem of savings and convenience.
If you're not a member yet, I highly recommend joining the Costco community. It's not just shopping; it's an experience that keeps you coming back for more. Five stars...
