Booked a reservation for 6:45 on open table this evening and from start to finish unfortunately was disappointed. To start we were given the choice of two tables the one closest to the front door (which blew in cold air everytime the door was opened) or the one right at the hallway going to the bathrooms. If we were a walkin I would totally understand but we made a reservation. We chose the one closest to the door. The server was nice and pleasant and we ordered our food. The oysters and my daughters meal was first and was brought out by a manager or the owner who was very aggressive and made us feel like we were in his way. We ordered 6 raw oysters as an appetizer and the 2 top items on the menu the 1881 ny strip as well as the fish special. We were enjoying the oysters and that is when the ATTACK on our food began. Every couple minutes a worker tried to take away what we were eating. They cleared the oyster plate without asking then we realized that we had not finished all the oysters. This was just the beginning, every couple minutes we were asked if we were done. It was very uncomfortable as we felt we were being pressured to finish though the restaurant had at that point multiple empty tables. The biggest issue was with my steak the most expensive item on their menu. I had finished 2/3 of the steak as well as the grilled vegetables that accompanied it. A worker came up and tried to take the plate. I told him I wanted to take the remaining steak home he said sorry and left the plate. Two minutes later a second worker came up and asked and I said I wanted to take the steak home as well as my daughters meal. She took both plates and came back 5 min later (after taking the meals in the back) with my daughters meal but not my steak. I stated that I had wanted the remaining steak and she said sorry and she would go get it for me. At that point we decided we would just get the check. The waitress apologized as she was not part of most of the above issues (they do a team approach) and gave us a desert to take home. It was overall a very disappointing meal and we understand the challenges that restaurants face but when we are spending over 100.00 for a meal that does not include alcohol we would appreciate better service and definitely a much better dinner experience than...

So this was my first time coming here as we were apart of a birthday party of around 23/25 people and it was on a Sunday early afternoon so it wasn't too busy inside. I was excited to finally try it here since it is local and I have heard good things. Since we were apart of a larger reserved party I knew the food would be family style and that's perfectly ok! The first disappointing part was the fact that our server barely came to check in on all of us maybe a handful of times throughout the few hours.. my friend could barely get a soda refill she had to keep trying to flag her down or walk up to someone and the same thing went for water which I don't know why they didn't just bring out a pitcher and leave for the table? The appetizers were 2 small pizzas (which the one with the blue cheese was gross) and Caesar salads that were pretty much a joke if that was included in "family style" for all 25 of us. I barely got any salad and the pizza sizes were the same size as a frozen DiGiorno one. After that it took the actual entrees FAR too long to come out. Meanwhile, we are all watching the rest of the fellow people dining at the restaurant on the opposite side being served in a timely fashion. When they did finally bring out the chicken Parm which had maybe 10 small pieces so again, half of us didn't even get to try it and the penne vodka not only was the pasta hard but COLD. So after waiting all that time, half of us have barely eaten anything at this point. Their "Family Style" portions are a joke for what they charge per person.. oh wait, then the desserts finally come out... it was a few slices of tiramisu and baby cannoli's.. which again once it got down to our side of the table there was nothing left so we didn't get to try that either. Nothing like leaving a restaurant hungry and having to go somewhere to eat?? This food is most definitely not 5 star worthy and I was planning to get take out to bring a meal home for my significant other but please! Bland food and overpriced at best. Overall, I was not impressed and I won't...

My family broke my grandparents out of Southampton Estates for my grandmother’s birthday. Beforehand, we asked her where she would like to go and she stated she had gone to La Vioglia lunch and really enjoyed it, but had yet to go for dinner. Apparently they were turned onto it by some of the other estates residents. Located in a small strip mall, I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, upon walking through their fenced off exterior space the atmosphere was completely transformed. The very inviting and pleasant maitre d’ showed us to our table and came back multiple times to check on us. The rest of the service was on point as well. Then comes the food. The seafood risotto was a hit, massive shrimp, and slightly al dente rice, the way it’s supposed to be. Italian supper pasta was a generous portion. Meatballs were flavorful as was the pizza, next time I would just ask for the pizza to be well done, but that’s personal preference. I was between multiple entree choices, but the clear winner stuck right out, veal osso bucco. Braising meats is one of my favorite ways to cook, and this did not disappoint. Perfectly paired with an assortment of mushrooms in a well seasoned and executed risotto, and finished with a perfect demi glacé. Following the meal we had some desserts including house made creme brûlée which my grandmother very much so enjoyed and felt smitten with the attention. At the end of the meal, the maitre d’ even treated us to some birthday shots of homemade limoncello.

Overall, fantastic service and friendly, inviting staff. Food was stellar. Atmosphere was casual, yet very clean, and tasteful. As a restauranteur and owner, with years in the food and hospitality industry, I take notice to detail, and La Vioglia passed with flying colors. Highly recommend, and looking forward to coming back soon. BYOB, so be sure to grab a bottle beforehand, and make a reservation, as it was quite busy, even on...

This place was popular on a Friday evening. Make reservations. Parking can be scarce. Dining room accommodates large groups. Service was fast and friendly. Water glasses were kept full for our entire visit. We quickly received bread and olive oil swirled with balsamic vinegar. Bread was pretty good quality, chewy and fresh. Oil was bland. Service faltered slightly twice – the dirty appetizer plates were not cleared, and we used them for sharing our entries, so fresh plates would have been appreciated, and our server was MIA after our dinner plates were cleared, so after a wait, we ended up ordering dessert from the busser filling our water. This place is well staffed, with plenty of servers and bussers. We were seated at a small table in the middle of the restaurant, a bit close to another couple, so we were envious of some other couples seated at four-top tables. Tight seating at small tables is standard at small popular restaurants in cities and towns, but in the suburbs you might be used to more room. Burrata and arugula salad with sweet pear was top notch. Pollo Granchio main course was just “not bad”. We appreciated the fresh, crisp green beans and peppers. Sauce was thick, peppery, and just a hint of tomato. Served over chicken breast cutlets, this sauce could have been more robust. The subtle flavor seemed more suitable for fish. Pasta Carbonara presentation is fun. It’s brought out in a mason jar, shaken, and poured onto the plate. The egg yoke unfortunately cooked solid, so the result was not appealing – small chunks of cooked yokes floating in cream. The sauce was rich, though not particularly flavorful; tasted mostly of cream, and was missing black pepper. Did not finish, and would not order again. Desert was fine. I would definitely like to revisit this place, and try some other dishes; the seafood dishes all looked good. I’d like to experience whatever it is that makes this place so popular.

Delicious!!! My wife and daughter tried La Voglia last week and their review was so good I had to find out for myself. It was definitely worth a return trip and this may be my new go to Italian restaurant. First, the staff and waiter (Matt) were amazing. He was very attentive, personable and made some excellent recommendations. We shared calamari and an eggplant appetizers. The eggplant was so flavorful that I should have ordered it as my entree. It even included a sprinkle of crabmeat just under the sauce which added a nice little surprise. The calamari was excellent as well and I truly enjoyed the roasted pepper dipping sauce. It was an added bonus to the appetizers flavors. All three entrees we ordered ( Chicken Parm, Pollo Granchio and Penne Vodka were so rich and flavorful too. The portions are a good size and the quality is extremely high. We could not decide which meal was the best but would re-order each of them again. For dessert we enjoyed cappuccino, an expresso and of course a cannoli. I have had good cannolis and ones that I would never speak of again, but this one was at the top of the list. Very creamy and a crunchy shell. We ordered one to share but found ourselves fighting for the last little piece. YUMMY. I would definitely recommend you give La Voglia a try. Great food, great service at a good price.
