My family and I arrived at Westview today to attend the sunflower farms. We were at the register ready to pay for our tickets and get on the train at 4:52pm. The website states the last trian leaves at 5pm and returns at 6pm. After getting my four kids ready for photos and driving a long ways to make it there only for the cashier to tell me we are no longer selling tickets the last train is leaving for the day. She said sometimes we are done at 4:45pm but according to the website last train is at 5pm. The cashier Angelina was yelling at the lady in front us telling her she needed to make up her mind on what she was purchasing(the lady was trying to purchase tickets for her family to go to the petting farm. Angelina the cashier pointed her finger at the lady in front of me and said "whatever it is, you need to make up your mind" in a loud tone. It was then my turn with my family alongside me. We asked the cashier Angelina if she could ask the train driver to kindly wait for us as it wasn't 5pm yet as he started to take off. She said there's nothing I can do. As I asked her many times if she could ask him in the walkie talkie to wait just a minute while we purchased our tickets. She continued to yell at me and say there's nothing I can do. I told her this is no way to treat your customers as she continued to say well there's nothing I can do. We asked for a manager 10 minutes later her manager shows up with a bigger attitude then the cashier. We were there in time before the train took off and then she calls the driver on the walkie talkie and asked him to come back to get us. No apologies about the way we were treated except for her to raise her voice at us also and wanted to charge us full price after the horrible experience we experienced with her cashier and to send us out to the field for only 30mins. We decided it was not worth it to only stay in the field for about 15 min after the 15-20min drive out to the field. We visit westview many times druing the season and the sunflower field every year for photos We will no longer be returning to westview and will let people know how poorly we were treated by the manager and the...
Read moreVery disappointed. My husband and I were excited to take a day out together to take a stroll at a cider mill, visit a petting farm to watch the animals play, pick some apples, and stroll around a pumpkin patch. Little did we know that it would cost us a small fortune here at Westview Orchards. There is absolutely NOTHING you can do unless you pay to do it. Every little thing will cost you. For an adult to walk around the picnic area, go near the animals, or snap a picture near the hay bails- will cost you. Not that there’s anything to do but walk around - it will cost you- $15 PER PERSON. I’ve been to better parks to walk around for free. The only way to get to the apples or pumpkin patch is to take the ride (which will cost you), THEN you get to pay for what you pick when you get back. Even to watch people use the apple shooter—— yep! It will cost you to simply WATCH. Had we done what we wanted to do, we could have easily dropped $100! The peach donut was awful- overcooked, dry and cold- and it didn’t even taste like peach. I’m not sure what it tasted like but it was horrible. The “fresh canned peaches” were exactly that- from a can! They were not fresh peaches. You can pick up a can of peaches from the grocery store, put them in a Ball canning jar and have the same exact product. The $4 peach turnover was a $4 piece of sugar coated filo dough. There were a few bites of peach sauce in the center, but the rest was only filo. It was a terrible experience. I will never go back and will recommend any couple who wants to have a nice day out, to find somewhere else to go. There was nothing to do and was a waste of a day that we could have spent elsewhere, enjoying the outdoors. If you have kids and decide this place might be a good idea- take a LOT of money. Otherwise, there are MANY other cider mills and orchards to choose from that would have been much more enjoyable and will let you watch the goats and chickens play- and let the kids climb the hay hill- without charging. I suggest looking elsewhere for an enjoyable day. Very...
Read moreDone. We’ve been bringing my kids here for YEARS. First off we’ve always paid for adults too ($16 for what? To watch my kid play?) We got a ride to the corn maze but it was so crowded a lady was literally hanging off the back. We could barely move. It’s sick season. People are coughing on each other. Not cool.
Kids were excited for the jumping bubble. That is gone. All the same stuff from year after year. I volunteer at an animal sanctuary for animals that were abused. It seems these poor animals could benefit going there.
Donuts were not all warm melt in your mouth. Nope, cold now in a PLASTIC container (I could buy this at Meijer) and styrofoam cups. Not even close to earth friendly.
While one of my daughters were playing on the playground another child accidentally kicked her hard in the face. I understand things happen, that didn’t upset me. However she was holding her nose crying hysterically so we were trying to leave. I was with my arthritic mom and handicapped other daughter as well. We were told we couldn’t exit in the GIANT and EMPTY place we entered next to the parking lot. Not even down by the pumpkin exit. No, we had to walk back to the exit over by the area cider and donuts were being sold. A SMALL and extremely CROWDED area with people coming in that we had to fight through. Then back up the hill up to the parking lot. All with my hurt child, hurting mother and sore/drained other child. Why? Because that’s the rule. Even seeing my crying child holding her nose was still not allowed.
With the price they are charging this isn’t even close to being worth it. You want to get sardined into a wagon ride with coughing people, see what appears to be neglected animals, eat some food that could be purchased at the grocery store while paying to supervise my own child (and let’s add not having sympathy for my family) this is not even close to being okay anymore. I’m not sure what they are doing with all they are making for what they are charging but it’s not going into making the place a better place. So...
