Decatur House — Attraction in Washington

I am REALLY disappointed by Decatur house and the White House Historical Society. My father drove up from Suffolk, Va, and I checked several websites about the availability of tours at Decatur house, not once did I see that it stopped touring at 2 pm. I live in Fairfax and my father visits from time to time, I was excited to tour Decatur house, I even called and tried to check time availability, but couldn't reach a person. I didn't leave a message because only Lord knows when someone would get back to me. This is the digital age and I did all I could to find out when tours happened, my father even paid for parking. Furthermore, having the last tour of the day at 2 is ridiculous, the place opens at 11, that's not even 4 hours open! Many historical places were closed today, Monday, and Decatur house could have capitalized on that by staying open a little later. I'm sad that I won't get to experience the history and majesty of Decatur house but I don't plan on ever coming back to this place, it's really not...

Any photographer would be happy to shoot at this historic venue, it is simply gorgeous!!

We coordinated a wedding at the Decatur House this weekend and it was a fantastic experience. Communicating with Arioth was a breeze leading up to the event, and the team was always ready to assist on the event day. The Carriage House provided a stunning backdrop for the cocktail hour, and the Courtyard was perfect for the reception. Guests also had the chance to tour the Historic House, which is a great touch for history buffs.
