Fort Bayard Park — Attraction in Washington

The location of one of the actual forts that once surrounded Washington DC, but all ramparts and fortifications are all gone. The park is a lovely hill and small field with a couple picnic tables, a small playground, and an old boundary stone marking DC's border. I would give the park a higher mark, but the city recently replaced the flooring for the playground, but didn't bother upgrading or adding to the older structures. Very nice park in the neighborhood. Small, situated on a hill which gives a bit of distance from houses and street. Typically secluded area - I've never been here when more than 10 people were present, making this a nice spot for exercise, quiet or reflection. Children's games and apertures groups meet...

Very small, but very decent playground for my 18 month and almost 4 year old. Only two swings, and two slides, but plenty for the kids to enjoy for an hour or so. Doesn't look like the area is maintained very well, but loads of nice green field space around for kids to...
