I adore this place! There are so few cozy coffee shops left in DC but this one gives me hope. Local art is hung on the walls (most of which you can buy), plush armchairs are scattered about and theres a wonderful reading nook in the window.
As for the food, the cappuchinos are some of the best in the area, pleasing both the bitter coffee loving members of my family and the ones who tend to put 6 packets of sugar in their 8oz coffees (yes, seriously). The pork rice bowl is amazing and I love the blueberry crumble muffin (it does completely fall apart when eating it though so be warned). The iced lattes are good but not incredible and the frappes are delicious. They changed how they do their chai a few years ago and it comes unsweetened but they are happy to add however many shots of simple syrup you want. I once forgot to ask, took one sip of my drink and went up to the counter to ask if it was at all possible to get a shot of syrup. They said no problem and handed it back to me (now sweetened) within seconds.
A few random tips: -The rice bowls are a much better deal than the bibibop and are generally better in my opinion They are closed on Sundays the chai is very strong and most people will prefer it sweetened Plain espresso is more expensive here than at most places but everything else is pretty normally priced -Use the plastic wrap that comes with the muffins to keep them from falling...
Read moreThey make cute latte art!! That's how I found this place. I saw that they make cute latte art in their coffee so I decided to drop by.
It's a small coffee shop with a few tables and chairs, but their menu is pretty expansive. Along with typical coffee and sandwich menu, they serve Korean inspired dishes like rice bowls and bulgogi quesadillas. I was overwhelmed with the menu and my indecisiveness led me to order a Commuter Breakfast Sandwich, bacon, egg, cheese, and tomato on a croissant. It wasn't a bad sandwich, just a little small and flat. I wish I had ordered something more creative. I also ordered the Ghirardelli latte and received it in a big mug with a bunny rabbit art. It was so cute that I didn't want to kill it, but I had to and it was delicious!
The staff is really friendly and they don't mind you just chilling there. When I was there, a musician showed up to play a couple of songs.
It's street parking. I found it easy to park in the...
Read moreMostly loved this place on our first visit today. The place is cute and comfortable, the staff are very friendly, and the bagel with egg, cheese, and turkey bacon was very good. My wife enjoyed her breakfast, too.
One weird pricing thing, though: I was still a little hungry after--only because it was noon and I'd skipped breakfast. I decided because I liked the bagel sandwich so much I'd order a cheese quesadilla. Unfortunately, it was simply a white tortilla with some cheap cheese. No other ingredients, no sour cream, no salsa. The problem for me was that it was $2 MORE than the bagel sandwich with egg, cheese, and turkey bacon. Totally not worth it.
If we are in the area we will definitely be back. We just won't have the...
