Dinner here was fabulous. Great views from floor to ceiling windows and not crowded at all. Our kids come here often and brought us here for the ambiance and what my daughter said was “the best Chinese food we’ve had here so far.” We’ve eaten Chinese food in Hawaii, Germany, California, Nebraska, Virginia, Florida and Barcelona, and we’re picky. Every dish was good, the sauces well-balanced and complex, not formulaic, not heavy. Sweet and Sour Chicken was perfect, crunchy with all white meat. The sauce was spot on. The Tinkling Pork was poured onto a hot cast iron platter so that it sizzled; it was good, with added deep fried dumplings, pork, mushrooms, baby corn, pea pods and carrots. The Hot and Sour Soup tasted perfect. The Chicken Fried Rice was excellent because not only did it taste good but the texture wasn’t wet and you could “taste the fire,” which means it was cooked in a wok over high heat but not burned. The dim sum dumpling filling was more pork than shrimp and tasted like Hawaii-style gau gee filling. There was a dipping sauce made of soy sauce, minced garlic, minced green onion, a few bits of minced fresh ginger, a touch of sugar and a touch of maybe vinegar: I loved it. You have to ask for soy sauce and hot mustard, but when they came these were high quality.
Just as my kids predicted the patrons were quiet families, groups of business people and singles relaxing over a meal with the view.
Our servers (one was the manager, I think) were smiling, attentive and detail oriented. Empty dishes were taken away quickly and unobtrusively. They didn’t talk a lot but that was maybe a language barrier thing; I smiled and they smiled. They were respectful of us and efficient.
The windows were clean, the chairs were clean, they put fresh white paper over the white table cloth, the plates and utensils were clean, and we didn’t see anyone carrying a black dish bin— dishes were taken away by hand. I noticed other reviewers said the place was dirty but I didn’t see that so maybe they’ve responded to the reviews and have improved. Even the white salt and pepper shakers were clean.
For the reasonable prices the ambiance is classier than you’d expect. It’s a...
Read moreWe took a group of 13 people here for dinner while at a conference. The staff did a great job and they took great care of us. Our table was set and ready for us to arrive. They did have to fit a few odd shape tables together to make it work, but it met the need.
I was amazed at the spread of food that they brought us. We started with an egg drop soup that was exactly what you would expect. It was served with deep fried wonton skins for you to add to the soup if you like. We then had a seaweed salad. This was actually my favorite dish of the meal because it was not something that I would have normally ordered and it tasted delicious.
When the plates started coming out with the entree's there were huge and piled high with food. We had a wide range of different dishes and they all tasted like the Chinese food I am used to. While I have moved to more Thai, Korean and Vietnamese dishes if I am picking the restaurant, this was good honest Chinese. The General Taos chicken was very good. Crispy fried chicken with the signature sweet sauce and the small hot peppers.
The stir fried shrimp with steamed vegetables were very good, the shrimp was well prepared and the sauce subtle in its flavor for you to be able to taste the shrimp and the vegetables. We also had a beef dish with onions and bell peppers that was very good and a lo mein noodle that was classic in it's flavors.
We ended the meal with some fresh cut oranges that were flavorful and juicy.
There was so much food there was no way we could finish it, and we felt terrible leaving it behind since we were all staying in a hotel. The staff did great and we had a nice, fun filled dinner...
Read moreLooking back over my reviews, I discovered I never wrote a review about one of my absolute favorite restaurants; shame on me.
It came to me as I was ordering take-out yesterday. I’ve had the pleasure of dining in with family and friends. But most of my orders have been to go only because of scheduling.
For the sake of this review, it was again to go. This time, I ordered General Tso’s Chicken with Fried rice and a bowl of Wonton Soup. It was just what the doctor ordered (okay for me). Their portions are ALWAYS plentiful and well packaged, and the presentation of the food is excellent, but more so than anything else, it’s so tasty and favorable.
The staff is always courteous and friendly. I chuckle when I call to place an order, and they take my number. I must be flagged in their system because they always make me feel so welcomed: " Hello __, what can I get for you today?” I appreciate the love.
Some other dishes that I have personally eaten there are as follows:
Egg Drop Soup Sweet and Sour Soup Spring Rolls B.B.Q Spare Ribs Fried Cheese Rangoon Crispy Shredded Beef Seafood Delight Crispy Whole Fish Jumbo Shrimp with Vegetables Shrimp in Lobster Sauce Orange Chicken Sauteed Assorted Vegetables Combination Fried Rice Combination Lo Mein Miso Soup Edamame
Yes, I’ve tried everything under each menu except the Sushi. There is still time. However, I would want to dine in and sample this menu.
This is the place to go, and they have been tried, tested, and delighted by many. Join us for a wonderful...
