Grew up going to Lafayette park and brought my niece a few weeks back. Was pleasantly surprised to see how much it's improved since I was a child - she loves the variety of equipment and there are truly options for all ages. There's also a fourth playground on the lower level (to the left if facing the school entrance) and in the back, facing the field closer to northampton street.

It’s important to know the background of this popular park. It used to be a Black community formed in the 19th century. Decades later, they were unjustly evicted to build the park. Thanks to the community, signs honor their legacy. Today, it’s a large park with plenty of green space, a large slide, and more.

This is a really nice park located in the Lafayette Square. The park is adjoining to the national historic landmark district. It is a very clean park and very well maintained.

This park was used as a race track, a graveyard, a zoo, a slave market in the park. Now a days it has most of it's guests as tourists who are visting White house. An ideal spot to relax and for...

I participated in a tree inventory with Casey Trees. We identified white pines, black oaks, a persimmon tree, sawtooth oaks, and a saucer magnolia. Other groups identified and measured other trees. We measured height, canopy width north-south and east-west, and diameter at breast height (DBH), and evaluated the condition of each tree. I...
