I’m writing this review as I eat my last cicken tender left over from last night. My husband and I went to Skips for the first time to watch a football game. We went for a few drinks and an appy and had so much fun! The chicken tenders were some of the best I’ve ever had in DC in a longgg time. Also, if you like ranch, theirs is quality. Creamy, bright, and fresh. It tastes like it was made with love and not dumped from a Hidden Valley bottle. (As a born and raised Midwesterner, I feel this is critical to call out.) What really sold me on this place, though, was its drink menu. Too many sports bars only center their beverages around the beer selection. But the drink menu at Skips feels like it was designed for everyone. I’m obsessed with their “Rose All Day” option where you can get a glass of rose or vinho verde for $5 a glass (yes, that’s the regular price, not just a hh special). I can’t wait to bring my friends as the weather cools so we can sit on their patio for a little apres ski (sans ski) and split wine bottles. Aside from their wine, they also offer $8 martinis and a great selection of other cocktails, as well as a seltzer and cider plus a rotating option. I’d be remiss if I didn’t shout out the staff- they were so friendly and attentive and made the experience even better. I cannot wait to go back for another game or just gab with the girlies....
Read moreBig ups to Trey and the staff for bringing forward a fantastic neighborhood bar and patio. The happy hour deals are fire considering how good the oysters and chicken tenders are. Liquor and beer selection is solid and drinks come out well portioned. We intend to make use of either the upstairs or downstairs event space which look well equipped to give groups from 20-100 a quasi-speakeasy vibe, exactly what we like. Looking forward to remaining...
Read moreGreat place for fun, food, and drinks. Inside seating, and outside weather permitting. Of course it's on upper Connecticut Avenue, N.W., so some street noise but you may be able to snag a parking spot out front. Fair amount of shopping in the area. Many of the shops and restaurants are neighborhoods staples, been...
