Ober Park — Attraction in Washington

Playground and wooded park with off street parking located a few blocks north of the Vashon Town core. In addition to the playground there are picnic tables, a “circuit training” equipment space next to the playground, benches, and some short easily walkable trails into the forested area.

Ober is where the Vashon Park District annual summer Concerts in the Park happen (Thursday nights in August), Summer Picnics in the Park (Vashon Food Bank), Main Stage for musical acts during Strawberry Festival (3rd weekend in July), Halloween Boo Bash, etc. Classes are sometimes offered in the Exercise Room of the Park District office building. Check the VPD website for schedule.

The Vashon branch of the King County Library System (KCLS) is also located in this park with their own separate parking area.

No public restrooms in the Ober Park building, but there are portable restroom units in the NW corner of the parking lot.

No overnight parking or camping. Be extra mindful of little kids riding their bikes, pedestrians, and off-leash dogs, etc. when coming in/out of the parking lot. Slow down, and remember, we’re on...

I decided to take a random day trip to Vashon Island today and I stopped to walk my dog here at Ober Park. At first glance it doesn't look like much here. Once you pass the playground you start to notice how wide and spacious it starts to become leading up to the trails. Perfect stop for the kids after the farmers market. Good shade, great play toys for all ages (we had 7-12). Exercise equipment for bigger folks/adults.
