We were absolutely WOWed the moment we walked in the door. The experience at the Lodges is far superior to any “hotel, and the “pod” concept is really terrific, providing you with ample space in a stylish, minimalistic fashion. We loved the privacy factor in not having to worry about typical hotel things like noise from the neighboring rooms. The check-in process was fairly simple, though we had “missed” the instruction saying that we needed to press “” after putting our code number in. In the instructions, it would have been helpful if it was illustrated to show the “” after the code number. 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣4️⃣*️⃣. We called the phone number provided and were called back immediately to resolve the issue. We liked the separation of the toilet area from the tub/shower area and we liked the heat lamp. Since it is a very deep bath tub, it would have been helpful to have had a “grab bar” to ensure safety when exiting the tub. The sink & kitchen counter are just outside the bathroom area, and it was a little weird to be prepping food in the same sink as washing hands after using the restroom. But that was just a minor thing that was easy enough to work around. The space was very nicely appointed, and the king sized bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed having temperature control, and we appreciated being able to adjust the thermostat to our comfort level. In the morning when it was a little chilly, the fireplace was perfect for taking the edge off. The plastic chairs at the little table are not the most comfortable, but they are certainly good enough. It would have been nice to have a TV in the general guest room instead of only in the bedroom, but that’s just our personal preference. We were delighted that they had bowls, glasses, plates, silverware, etc., and a fridge & microwave, a hot water kettle and a fresh coffee press…but there was NO COFFEE?!?!!? Fortunately there is a little coffee place a short walk from the Lodges where we were able to get our morning cup of joe. It seemed odd to have a French Press without any coffee to put in it. Oh, well. All in all, it was a very positive experience and we would highly recommend it. We will definitely be back the next time we...
Read moreIf you’re coming from Tacoma, you are looking at a 20 minute drive from the Ferry to the lodging. If you’re coming from Seattle ferry, it’s about a 5-6 minute drive from the lodging. There are no Ubers available, so it would have been nice if the lodges offered a shuttle service to better meet visitors needs for those who came without a vehicle. “we came for a wedding weekend”. Beds were comfy, the rooms came with a microwave and fridge with glassware to utilize during your stay, which is a plus and they were nicely spaced out. Check-in and check-out was easy and we had no issues aside from that each room came with just one sink, yes one! So you are brushing your teeth and washing your hands after using the bathroom in the same sink you’re cleaning your dishes in. Some may find that as a huge no-no, where others may not find it a problem. I for one, couldn’t stop thinking about how gross that was. They had a cute commune area if you’re booking a big party, which had a nice aesthetically pleasing fire place and a small area to sit. No, there’s no room service, housekeeping or any of that. So if you’re looking for that type of vaca this place isn’t it. All doors are all manually coded to get in, so make sure you have your cell phone to remember your code, as there are no swipe keys etc. to get into your room. The lodges have an easy walk to groceries that you can easily stock your room with your snacks and necessities and they have nearby walkable restaurants, Sporty’s was our favorite. They do have a wine store on-site which has a great variety of wine options to...
Read moreOne of the coolest places I have ever stayed. I didn't want to leave! It was almost like a cross between a hotel and glamping. The resort is very modern and each "room" is detached like individual cabins. There is no staff on property so check in is contactless and you are given a code to enter your lodge. It honestly almost felt more like a rental or Airbnb than an actual hotel. The decor felt very scandinavian/modern and was very cozy. I almost felt like I was in Norway or something! Definitely not like most places you see in the PNW. The lodges are extremely spacious and very private since they are all detached from each other. Your neighbors are close by, but we never heard a sound! Very quiet here. I highly recommend the meadow king lodges as you get a nicer view of the meadow and trees behind the property (you might even see deer grazing in the meadow), whereas the courtyard rooms are closer to the parking lot and you don't really have a view. Also the meadow lodges have a full walk-in shower room with heated floors and an attached private patio which was an amazing experience (the courtyard lodges don't have the patio and have a tub shower instead). There are a few design/layout choices I could gripe about (ie: having only one sink for both the bathroom and kitchen), and the wifi was spotty sometimes, but these were minor things and everything else about the space makes up for it. Overall this is a great place to come and unwind and explore Vashon Island. Can't wait...
