I wasn’t into LEGO growing up, however, I always admired what people created using LEGO. The Art of the Brick exhibit @ the Rhode Island Avenue Center was great.
Having been to 50 or more immersive experiences over the years, I think that the Art of the Brick, produced by fever, is an immersive experience that is nicely done as it really appeals to all ages, no matter if you are a LEGO fan or not.
The scale and variety of creative ways that the artist used Legos to recreate iconic paintings, sculptures, landmarks, animals and scenes was astounding! Seeing LEGO used to create flat and life-sized 3-D elements was amazing.
The staff were all friendly. As soon as I walked in and throughout, I was greeted by several staff, which always enhances an experience.
My photo was taken as soon as I walked in with the offer to purchase it from the gift shop when I was done. I realized that I had a VIP ticket with a photo add-on, so I already paid for the photo in advance. At the end of the exhibit, you can go to the staff member, who will edit the photo slightly for you. You can also select the LEGO background for your photo, which is a nice option. I definitely tweaked my photo.
The Art of the Brick LEGO exhibit is broken into themes; iconic paintings, landmarks, sculptures, animals, scenes, etc. It’s visual eye candy on steroids!
The amount of detail and scale that the artist, Nathan Sawaya, used to create each piece is awe-inspiring.
At the end of the exhibit there is a store with an interactive area for kids to play in a pool of LEGO; and to color different sketches that can be scanned in and displayed on the wall.
The store has plenty of LEGO kits, and exhibit merch including the standard t-shirts, hats, magnets and posters.
If you have a VIP ticket, you get a free poster and VIP lanyard.
Note: You pay for parking using a QR code; I was thankful that the staff member asked me if I had parked and provided me with the code to pay for parking. The parking is strictly enforced and there no attendants, so scan the parking QR code @ one of the signs in the lot. The lot is monitored 24/7 and towing seems likely.
Tips: If you’re a foodie or find yourself hungry before or after you go to the Art of the Brick, walk a few steps over to Bryant St. Market Food Hall to grab a bite. There are some great food selections available.
The popular metrobar is steps away from Art of the Brick. It’s a fun bar inside a metro subway car.
*If you enjoy immersive experiences, you can get a combo ticket to also attend Art of the Brick and the Claude Monet exhibit via the fever app.
*If you like murals & cool street art, take a walk around Bryant St. Market. You’re welcome!
I definitely walked away from the exhibit having a greater appreciation for creativity. The quotes placed throughout the exhibit really resonated with me.

Read moreI recently had the chance to visit an amazing LEGO exhibit, and it completely exceeded my expectations. It felt like walking through a high-end art gallery, but instead of paintings and sculptures, everything was built with LEGO bricks! The creativity, detail, and craftsmanship on display were truly mind-blowing.
Each piece told a unique story, and the way the artist transformed simple LEGO bricks into breathtaking works of art was nothing short of inspiring. From intricate music notes to imaginative abstract 3D like designs, every display showcased the limitless possibilities of LEGO as an art form.
I left feeling incredibly inspired and even more excited about LEGO as both a medium and a passion. I can’t wait to meet the artist behind these incredible creations—it would be amazing to hear about their process and vision firsthand. If you ever get a chance to see this exhibit, don’t...
Read moreWe liked the fact that parking was right outside the venue and was reasonably priced.
The staff that greeted us and throughout the exhibit were friendly and personable.
The establishment was very clean. We appreciated benches along the way when we needed a break.
The displays were magnificent! A lot of time and care was put into each sculpture's display and write up. It was nice to have such a variety of pieces. Some were familiar like the Mona Lisa and American Gothic. Some were awe inspiring like the tyrannosaurus rex and other life-size animals. Some made you think like the Human Condition exhibit. All of them made you say "wow!"
We enjoyed the interactive portion...
