This should really be two reviews, one for the Cherry Blossom Festival, one for the rest of the year. We'll start with the rest of the year.
Being near the water is always gorgeous, and there's always something going on, either polo on the Polo Fields, ultimate frisbee being played on Ohio Drive, or a softball league game going on
It's a lovely place to bike or jog, or just drive down and sit on the water. One summer evening, I saw two buddies had driven down, pulled camp chairs from their trunks, and were just sitting on the side of the water, watching the sunset. It was truly idyllic.

Just at 9 a.m. tour buses arrived letting off lots of people so if you want to avoid the crowds, definitely get there well...

Great place for photography of west end of the National Mall: Memorial Bridge, Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Kennedy Center & of course the...
