Camera Exchange — Attraction in Waterford Township

I've visited this shop only twice when I was in need of vintage camera help and both times they've exceeded my expectations! Their range of knowledge is expert level; it almost seems they have an employee specialized in every situation you could possibly come in with. A worker at Best Buy who wasn't sure exactly what I needed to revive my 20-year-old camcorder recommended this shop and I'm SO glad I made the 30-minute drive. Within minutes of my arrival, the guys at Camera Exchange knew what kind of battery I needed, even gave me a car charger for the battery that I had no idea was even possible, and even sold me packs of film, which I hadn't even gotten around to thinking about yet. The next camera I brought in was an old Minolta SRT Super because I knew they would be able to tell me its condition and worth. They offered to clean my lense for a reasonable price, chose lense and body caps to keep the surprisingly good condition of the camera in tact, sold me film, and I couldn't be more excited to begin using this little gem because of them! First Rate! I actually saw a listing from them on eBay and read the reviews. The reviews were stellar and this was all I needed to decide this was where I was going to buy a particular item I was after.... But, I needed super fast shipping. I needed this item within two or three days. I picked up the phone and it was immediately answered by someone who was super nice and helpful but needed to confirm 100% that they could get the item out and to me as quickly as I needed it. I waited all of about 18 seconds and they confirmed in fact it wouldn't be a problem. My item arrived in 2 days. I am so tickled that I got to talk to a real live human being on the phone and that they delivered as promised.

Wow!! The only negative about the store? That it and I are not located in the same city. :)-

By far the best place to go for anything cameras, film, or photo! Every staff member is extremely knowledgeable about all things photography and the best part is they’re all fantastic people as well. They’re always down for a good chat or to go the extra mile to help out. I get excited to go in every couple weeks to re-stock on film, or to upgrade a piece of gear! Always ends up being the highlight of my day. They tend to also have items that are harder to find or can help you to find something you’re looking for, especially if it’s analog-related equipment but they have a great selection of new equipment as well. They always have a good selection of film. If you’re anything like me you’ll feel like a kid in a candy shop. Prices are also competitive and they are incredibly transparent with their customers.
