Waterfall Jewelers is the primary jewelry store my family has used for more than 30 years. I sourced a stone for my engagement ring, and initially stopped by the store to discuss potential band setting types and designs that would support the stone. There were a few setting styles I had seen online, and thought were custom designs that had to be purchased from a specific vendor in person in California. However, Haley and Joe were confident they had seen these settings before⦠then pulled out 3 massively thick jewelry catalogs from under the counter. They pored through the catalogs and the internet to find the general company who actually manufactured those specific vintage-looking settings and then actually sold & distributed to other jewelry stores so it seemed like those specific stores were the sole creators of the designs.
They ordered a couple different setting samples to their store for me to look at in person before I made a final decision.
The settings came in within 1-2 weeks of ordering. I decided against these settings and instead went the custom setting design route with their custom jeweler. I provided information about what I wanted in a setting: tulip basket, double-claw prongs, 4.5mm thick (wide) 14k yellow gold band.
After putting down a deposit that went toward the total cost, the jeweler began work on the design. I was sent CAD renderings of the setting and what the stone would look like within the settings.
I approved the renderings and the process moved to the next step of creating a 3D wax version of the setting. Once this was complete, I came to the store again to view the wax.
I approved the wax and the process moved to actually creating the setting with the metal and specifications I had provided.
The final ring is perfect and exactly what I had envisioned. I mostly worked with Haley but also Nick and Joe. They are all wonderful, and were very helpful. I asked many questions throughout this process related to cost, design, structure/stability of the setting, and timeline.
I always experience excellent customer service at Waterfall Jewelers. Haley was especially helpful to talk with about the structure of the setting as she has expertise in the jewelry repairs department, and thus was able to provide a wealth of knowledge on common issues related to jewelry settings that make a stone more likely to get knocked out of a setting, how stone height can affect that, how the type of metal determines how likely the jewelry piece is to be bent out of shape due to softness, and other interesting and important factors I was not aware of.
Thank you to everyone I worked with over the process that took about 2 months from start to finish. Everyone was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and never pushy or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood afternoon people of Oakland County and surrounding areas. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY PURCHASE AT THIS STORE. The rings you buy here are loose over 90% of their value the second you swipe your card to pay for the same chandise. After my family including my mom and her best friend recommended Tom (who is the owner of this company and many more) and said that hands down he would get me the best deal and take care of my personal interest making sure that I was able to buy the ring of my fiancĆ©ās dreams. I spent $4,450 here on a ring for my future wife and after some unfortunate things took place, my fiancĆ© and I broke up. Felling confident that Tom who told me at the time of the sale he would give me store credit to buy anything I wanted 100% of what I paid for the ring. I was initially bummed I couldnāt get my cash back but I thought hey at least I can buy something for myself or another women in the future. I just came home from overseas as a military combat medic, wasnāt looking for any extra favors even though he says heās friends with my family, he tells now that he will only give me store credit if I spend another $4,450 again. Then he would give me close to $10,000 in the store to buy what I wanted. He completely neglected to tell me this at the purchase and also no that I have nothing else but to try and sell this ring I would like everyone to know the best offer I have received is $750.00 ???? Iāve been told when I show my receipt to these other jewelry stores and wholesalers that I was completely ripped off. I would not recommend this jewelry store to anyone. Iāve also seen this exact ring even though Tom told me it was custom made at other stores with better diamonds for less than $3000.00 I canāt beleive waterfall jewlers takes advantage of military members and when confronted is not willing to help at all unless I give him another $4,450.00 in cash. Please check your Facebook for ads I will be sending out to she copyās of receipts appraisals and all the hard evidence. I will invest my $4,450 into showing how this company treats our military.
Please do yourself a favor and shop around and buy from someone who will stand behind their workmanship with loyalty, respect, and have some courage or intestinal fortitude to make things right. Tom is not that kind of person. Just a money hungry business owner. I feel sorry for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place tried to make us think that my wifes wedding ring diamond was in my terms fake. There terms (man made) when we took it in to be repaired. Their gemologist told us that he put our diamond through a machine that's 98% accurate. He then told us that it came back as a man-made diamond. They offered her to upgrade it or offered her to turn it into other pieces of jewelry. They even suggested to sell her a new one. I paid over $13,000 for this ring. They told her that because the diamond was man made that they only valued the ring at $7,500. Needless to say I did not have them do the repair and I took it back to the place I bought it from. The Jewelry Exchange in livonia. I had them send it out to be certified by the GIA Institute. It came back as a 1.56ct SI2 clear. It's been appraised at Helzberg diamond in Rochester and came back at $14,500. Why would you tell a customer this if your not trying to scam them out of there diamond or sell them a new one? I'm also not sure where they come up with the statement that their machine is 98% accurate when obviously it's not. I have a hard time thinking that I fall within that 2%. I would be very cautious with this establishment.
In response to your comment because I couldn't simply reply under it.
When you tell somebody that they're absolutely real diamond is man-made that is telling them that you believe their diamond is fake. You are also now calling my wife a liar when you say that you didn't give her the option to upgrade or turn it into other pieces of jewelry. I'm not interested in doing business with you folks. I've got a very reputable company that's going to fix my wife's ring. I'm sorry but I don't do business with Shady people and I especially don't do business with people that call my wife a liar. The ring also did not have extensive damage. It had a bent prong. That comment though just makes you look even worse to me. Good luck to you guys because I posted this on Facebook as well and you should see some of the comments that people are saying about your...
