Grey House Studio — Attraction in Wauwatosa

I recently went to Grey House Creative Market with 4 friends and we were all very disappointed. We went in with an open mind and were excited to create our projects. Personally, I have zero experience with wood workshops, so I was also excited to learn from experts! Our class began at 7, in which the owner of the studio was over 30 minutes late. She did not provide a lot of direction, which was extremely disappointing since we all had different projects that needed attention. The owner was highly distracted by getting ready for the class that was tomorrow. This experience made me feel as though I was an uninvited guest in her home and she did NOT want to play hostess. I understand that maybe she had an off day; however, there is no excuse for being rude and unhelpful, especially when you’re the business owner. To top off the night, my friends and I didn’t finish until 11pm...this should not have been a 4 hour session. Even if that time is normal, then we should’ve been provided with that information ahead of time. If this studio wants to succeed, then I’d recommend that they be more attentive, respectful and helpful to their customers. I’d also suggest that they put an estimated timeframe for each project on their website, which will help people when deciding on the project that they want to do. This is less of a review for the business and more of a review for the owners. My friends and I were at East Tosa Vet Clinic (next door to GreyHouse) on Saturday for their Pictures With Santa event. While waiting for our appointment in the parking lot, the husband/owner of GreyHouse approached my friend’s van and opened her door to ask her what she was doing there and said the building was not accessible (my friend is in a wheelchair). My friend explained we were there for an event at the vet and he told her she needed to park elsewhere because the vet was farther down - it’s not, the vet is next door and the parking lot is shared and not designated for GreyHouse only.

I’m disgusted at the arrogance righteousness this man had to approach a woman who is minding her business in her car, touch her property, and tell her where she needs to be when he knows nothing about her or why she is there. I’m also offended by how dismissive he was to a disabled person and even acknowledged that his business is inaccessible so she couldn’t be there.

If you plan to give your time and money to GreyHouse, be sure you are able bodied so you aren’t discriminated against and dismissed. Also be prepared to be questioned about your business in the...

The space was BEAUTIFUL. The drinks were great also, but we were a little dissapointed that the bartender working our event gave a tour during our private party. It was a little awkward to have a few random strangers walk through and watch our gathering. The bartender was absent for a small period of time to accommodate the guests that were touring the facility. I personally thought this was a bit rude because we had the time slot booked and reserved for our party only, and the tour should have been scheduled for a time period that the facility was not hosting a private event or the visitors should have been asked to come back to the facility before or after the...
