Would give -5* if I could. I purchased a deal for partial highlights or solid color plus haircut. Big mistake. I arrived at the salon early, excited to have my roots touched up and a great haircut before my 30th high school reunion. Was I mistaken. When someone finally came to get me, they took me to a stylist, think his name was Hong, as he didn’t speak English very well. I explained I just wanted my roots touched up and the haircut. He kept asking about the color. I kept telling him I wanted it the same dark color that I had. He said ok. When he returned, I noticed that the color of the dye didn’t look right (as I’ve had my color done so many times) and he just kept telling me it was fine. As it was processing again I said it was turning the wrong color, he just kept telling me it was fine. I even got up and went into the reception to complain, but nothing was done to stop this process. Stylist returned to add more color to my hair, saying it was darker. Then tried to add streaking down the color to”blend it”, I stopped him and said no very loudly. This was crazy, had this person ever done any type of hair color before. At this point I didn’t know what else to do because no one was listening. So finally he moves me to the sink to wash out the color, again and experience. I swear this man did not go to school for this. He takes me to another station to give me my haircut. I explain what I want and again he says fine. He makes the first cut and then leaves. At this point I look at the color, only to find he had lightened my hair color, it wasn’t even close to my color!! I got up out of the chair, went back to the reception in tears demanding to see a manager. When the girl asked me what was wrong, I told her again, look at the color, I told you earlier he was putting on the wrong color, she said oh yes it’s much lighter. Finally she went and returned with a lady, who said she would fix it, no problem. I have to say this stylist was very nice and even offered to add in some extra, which I declined. She did correct it to a much closer color. At this point I was taken to her station by another stylist to dry the front to look at the finished color, it wasn’t a 100% but much closer. I didn’t expect it to be a 100% since the stylist before had just lightened it. Then I was told that Hong would be right with me to finish my haircut. My response was, absolutely not!! He will NEVER touch my hair again!!! I asked the lady who corrected the color if she could be the one to cut it, and she was not able as she was leaving for the day. I was walked to the front by the stylist who had dried my roots to reschedule my haircut, stating she would be the one to do it and ensured me there would be no charge. So I booked the appointment for the day before I was to go to my reunion. Then the receptionist said I owed an additional $96 dollars. I said no, I had pre purchased the deal. She continued to argue saying that it only covered part of the deal. I pulled up the Groupon details and showed her that it was paid in full and they had redeemed it. She continues to say I owe more money. Finally she brings up someone to help, who showed her she marked the incorrret box, that I didn’t owe anything further. So 3 1/2 hours after my appointment had started, I was leaving with the incorrect color, no haircut and wet hair. As I thought about my experience, I got more and more upset. So I called the next day to cancel the haircut. I explained why I was canceling the appointment. After all of this, why subject myself to another tragic experience. About a week or so after my reunion, I missed a call from the salon. When I returned the call, the girl said they just wanted to follow up to see how satisfied I was with my appointment. So again I went into detail about my experience. The girl apologized and asked if I would like to have the manager call me back. I of course said yes. As of this review, I have not received any call back. I would NOT reccomend this...
Read moreThe Groupon was a wonderful value. Loved being able to get a cut and face frame balayage for $69. It was a real treat. Good merchandise to browse while waiting for my appointment and coffee was delicious. I didn’t see milk or sugar out but the coffee was so good it didn’t need it so no problem there. I believe it was the owner (DE) who was also at the check-in desk and I was greeted with a genuine smile which was very nice. Nadeem shook my hand and we talked about what we were doing. I felt like after showing him pictures he got me more than just my verbal explanations. I thought his technique seemed great. He took his time and I got a really good amount of highlights for the deal. I started to get concerned when the bleach sat on my hair for what seemed to be a very long time. Much longer amount of time than my normal salon where I had been going. I was nervous I was overprocessing and he had walked away for me to process so I couldn’t find him to ask. Other stylists saw me looking around from my chair but didn’t ask if I was ok or needed anything. Not a big criticism as I’m understandably not their client, but it would have been the nice thing to do if they did check on me as I clearly was growing antsy, alone at the station. Nadeem finally returned. I think if he just told me how long he planned on having me process I wouldn’t have been surprised. I asked him if my highlights were going to be too light now but he said no and I felt better. Ten more minutes he said! Well, he was right. Even with extra 10 minutes on top of what seemed liked forever, much highlights were perfect. His haircut was even more perfect. He really, really takes his time. A slow moving but precise wet cut and then took time to dry razor cut after the blowout. My hair is falling into place beautifully. Slow but beautiful cut. My hair felt like silk when I came in damaged. He told me the DE organic product helps. I got trial size items and something else so I can continue as I travel this summer. The groupon price was honored with no trouble so I was happy. I was at the salon 2-1/2 hours for a cut and face frame balayage - not sure if that’s about right but I was running late at this point and had to run, I appreciate his skills so it’s fine. My blowout held up for the rest of the very humid day and evening. On a small note, obviously the salon is strikingly lovely, modern and open, luxurious for sure. I do feel compelled to mention that the inside of the stations are quite dirty and compacted with old cut hair on the floor where it meets the bottom of the station/walls. The floor molding is badly in need of cleaning. I believe I was Nadeem’s 2nd client of the day so it couldn’t have been that days accumulation. It was definitely several days of dust and hair. When your salon is all chic white, everything shows and between that and the need for paint touch-up, I think it isn’t reflective of the look you’re going for..just maintenance is all. But when you’re sitting with color, you notice these things. Not a big critique but constructive feedback. Music selection was 90’s soft rock. Not unenjoyable but I think your salon is too chic for non-stop Matchbox20. :) At the end of the day, it’s nice to have a luxury salon in town and I love my hair. Little tweaks I think are important to keep your place as nice as when you first opened and I like to see businesses succeed — so that’s why I mentioned everything; the good and the less good. I’ll enjoy my hair today. Nadeem definitely has talent! Thank you for...
Read moreI've waited to post this hoping my haircut would fall into place after awhile but sadly that's not the case. I explained what I wanted & even tried to show pictures, which the stylist had no interest in looking at, making me feel like I insulted her by wanting to do so. I wished she had truely listened to me because if she had, the hair on the back of my head would not be all cut up, choppy and unruly, and I would have the cut I wanted. I've spent the last year plus trying to grow it out & now I'll have to spend another year plus doing the same. I get knots in my stomach every time I look at it. Was hoping to have a nice style for my holiday work party but I don't believe I'll be going, when you don't feel good about your hair, you don't feel good about yourself. I have also been here for color. Am impressed with the extra care given, but I had sat for awhile n never once did anyone come by & offer coffee or water so not sure about the pampering people have mentioned. For what you pay here I would expect a little bit more in that respect. ADDENDUM: Thought I'd give them a 2nd chance for a haircut, but with another stylist who I saw mentioned in reviews online. Thought that would be safe.when I called to book appt., I asked they schedule a time where she's not double booked (which was one of the issues with my initial visit) plus some extra time for consult, they said no problem. I arrive with time to spare before my appt., wait almost half an hour to be seen. Get to her station, again another one with no interest at looking at pictures to show how I want my hair. We spoke for maybe a few minutes at most, then she looks at her schedule & says "now I don't have time to cut your hair" (I should have taken that as a sign not to continue with the cut) I was taken aback especially with her poor attitude & implying I was late !!! I asked how is it you have no time ? Looked at her schedule again, "Oh I forgot I did her already " WOW it was only 10:30 in the morning. On my way to get washed I was fuming I wished I had walked out at that point. With her bad attitude it made for an uncomfortable time while I was in her chair. NEVER AGAIN AT THIS PLACE !!!!! Again, the money they charge you should be nicer to clients. It may be that I got 2 of the nastiest ones there, but I'll never know. Not ever stepping foot in...
