I’d like to start this off by saying Krystal is a sweetheart and has done my hair nicely in the past but my main issue was the manager and Krystal’s lack of communication as a stylist. Krystal agreed to do a particular color highlight in my all black hair and did not communicate any concern towards my request. She made me feel that it was do-able without a doubt. She proceeds w the accent highlighting and only after the bleach processed, she finally tells me that it may not work out. I wanted a vibrant purple and she told me she’d have to make it a dark purple. I was okay with this and understood that hair doesn’t always cooperate— especially dark black hair. She finishes up and the dark purple, dries it, and that dark purple is not showing through at all. It looks like black, there’s no sign of an accent highlight and my hair looks the same as when I walked in, if not worse because there were spots where the dye didn’t take and It caused caramel brown roots and brassiness. I was completely honest with her and said I didn’t see any difference in my hair other than the few spots that I’d have to go home and fix up myself w black dye. I tell her I don’t think it’s fair to charge me for the accent highlights when there’s literally no visible highlights in my hair. I was perfectly fine for paying for the all over color service and tipping her well for her time spent, but I was not gonna spend the extra money specifically for the accent highlights. She had never communicated prior that she may not be able to do this service successfully, and if anything convinced me that it was possible all while then trying to charge me for highlights I did not actually end up receiving. She brings the manager and the manager is extremely condescending (older woman with short hair) the manager tells me I should still pay for the highlights because it took her time and that I was making the stylist “undersell” herself. Your stylist should’ve been honest from the start whether or not it could work. Of course I’d still tip her well because of the time she took but again, I should not pay extra for a service when my hair ended up looking all black anyway along with a few mistakes. The manager was unhelpful, shaming me, and not understanding of the situation from the perspective of a customer. No one should pay for extra for a specific hair service that ends up with them leaving the salon looking the same, if not worse. I had to stop at CVS on the way home for root touch up to fix...
Read moreFirst and foremost I want to say that i never ever write reviews. Given that i am a business owner and also have worked in retail, i know how difficult sometimes customers can be. HOWEVER, my encounter with “Sefna” (?) was completely uncalled for. She rang up my happy return and after doing so, instead of leaving the ups garbage that my return came in on her counter, expecting her to throw it out (only saying this because it’s happened to me before) i asked her politely if she had a garbage. Her response was that the garbages behind the counter are small. I said really? It won’t fit a piece of plastic paper ? (When rolled into a ball it was about the size of an apple).
Not sure if she just didn’t want to touch it, fine but i didn’t ask her to handle it, asked her if she had a garbage. AND, she’s handling returns of clothing, (has no problem touching that?) Also, i thought about the fact that maybe they’re not allowed to take customers garbage. Tried giving the benefit of the doubt but im sure then her excuse wouldn’t have been that her garbage pail is too small. Truthfully this encounter was pathetic and just so rude and uncalled for so i had to make a review to mimic that. Do better on who you hire for customer service. This could have easily been avoided. Sefna or whatever your name is if you’re having a bad day love, stay home. Not fair for your employer to sacrifice a bad review on...
Read moreSo a few days ago I was there looking for a bronzer. So I was walking around trying different bronzer and out of the three employees that were there that I remember seeing None of them came to help me out. I actually had to ask one of them hey excuse me I’m looking for a bronzer Which one do you recommend and she gave me the name of two brands and I was like OK I don’t know about the shades and then she just pointed out to try this one or this one And walked away. I did notice they were helping other people that was just walking in and they were helping these Caucasian ladies I know there was one employee that kept on walking around wherever I was I don’t know if she thought that I was gonna steal, but instead of walking behind me and being wherever I was, why didn’t she ask? Can I help you with something? It’s not the first time that I go to this Ulta and I’ve noticed that no one helps in there. Not to put the race card I’m a Spanish female, and I’ve noticed that they help out more the white people that go there. Like I said Before it’s not the first time that I go to that old town and noticed the same thing, no one ever has come up to me to ask if I need any type of help. Sally, I won’t be going back to the store anymore I usually like to go there after I finish shopping in Trader Joe’s. The people in Trader Joe’s are friendlier and more helpful than the people at...
