Maggies Town Tavern — Restaurant in Wayne

I went for dine in and the food and seasonal drinks that were ordered were good. Waiters are great and hard working. I ordered two turkey burgers to go for by husband and my son. Now my husbands usually eats anything and everything. He only ate the sweet fries and left the turkey burgers said it tasted off and couldn't quite make it out but it was garlicky and my son after some bites stated his stomach was hurting. So I did tasted it myself and something was off. They both didn't want to go back and get a new one so I told them to get a gift card or something. They came back stating manager mentioned it never happens and no garlic is used and what would they want her to do with it and for me to call her. I called the manager and she stated in her 15 years of her career this had never happened to her and no garlic was used, and I said ok but my son said his stomach was starting to hurt and she said well which one is it. And I said both. Asked me for my receipt I said it was kept there when my husband went for the refund and she insisted it was not. Then, I had to describe to her I was just there with my daughter and had recently left with that order and she insisted my receipt was not there. For $34 dollars for 2 turkeys burgers I did want some kind of refund. She then said one was mostly eaten so she would refund only one. Which is fine but my husband did eat the fries because he was not planning to go back, but told him to once my son was complaining about his stomach. I am now waiting for that refund to show on my card well half of it. Note: we have had the Turkey Burgers there before and they have been good. For her to tell us nothing was wrong I don't think...

Maggie's is a really proper pub/bar restaurant. The place is brand new, decor is rustic with an urban industrial feel. True to it's tavern roots, this place features a number of large, high def TV's scattered about the large bar, with plenty of high top seating scattered around. Ppv UFC was being broadcast which felt right. On a Saturday night, we waited about 15 mins for a seat. Our appatizers, deep fried pickles, classic wings, and a chicken quesadilla, were excellent. The pickles were large, covered in just enough batter, fried golden brown, and lightly salted. They came with an equally excellent dipping sauce. The quesadilla was stuffed with grilled chicken, tomato and onion, and of course, cheese, all in perfect proportion to fit within the soft tortilla wrapping. Our main courses, for the most part, were also excellent. The burger was tender and tasty, a large portion served with crispy fries. Fries were very good. Baked Mac and cheese was also a hit. Very large portion and creamy with a crispy outer crust. The southern style chicken sandwich was a let down. It tasted like two crispy chicken tenders stuffed into a day-old long rolling with some deli cheese thrown on top. Something a college student might make after a long night of drinking. There was very little sauce; the sandwich was dry. Not worth the premium price tag. Other than the chicken sandwich, we had a great experience. Our waitress was attentive and offered above average customer service. Prices are level with other pub/restaurants, not outrageous. Would return...

Early dinner tonight - 4pm. Just a mess from the very start. Almost completely server related. We have been here before. Server was pleasant (quite a bit heavy on the cologne and confidence), but just completely unsuitable for a job like this. He informed us that we were his first customers of the day. Couldn't tell us soup of the day, said he just walked in and didn't know and said he'd come back and let us know when he was taking our order. 10 minutes later and know sign of him. When we went to look and did find him in a gaggle with other servers - I asked if he forgot about us and he said he had. Hmm honesty. Didn't write the order down. Couldn't tell us how a new menu item was prepared and didn't offer to find out, just started guessing. Meal came out and two items on one plate were incorrect and the second meal had to be returned because the fish fry was sitting in a puddle of water. Took meal back, but not the side of fries which sat on the table to chill while waiting for the meal. He came with new plate and it took so long other guest was finished eating. Left plate and guest with no silverware. He never returned to see how new plate was (still waterlogged fish fry??) and never refilled beverages. This server was not new (as we were informed). Manager came to clear plates and we informed him of some of the errors. He did provide a discount (that is what the 2 stars were for). Just not a good...
