Where to start? My husband and I took the signature dinner cruise on June 28th for the bargain price of $243 and it is $243 we will never get back. The moment we got on board, the smell of filth hit is overwhelming. The a/c did not work properly and sitting inside was unbearable. The food was absolutely disgusting. It was like cafeteria food; very bad cafeteria food. The mystery Mexican corn casserole thing was something of nightmares. The bathrooms smelled worse than a port-a-potty. Oh they were absolutely AWFUL! I ended up just leaving my filled plate of slop so I could escape to the breeze outside. We perched ourselves on the lower back deck for the shortened 2 hour cruise and just drank the night away. It was semi-decent out there until 2 of the teenagers from this gigantic teen tourist group decided to use it as their personal make-out spot: the kid made it all the way to 3rd base so I guess the evening wasn’t a complete bust for everyone! All of the staff were very friendly and the cruise did not do as promised which was to sail around manhattan to the east river. I guess there was an issue with the coast guard stopping that from happening. The host was very kind and professional about it. And the cherry on top; our waitress; when we went to give her a tip, surprised us with a $124 mystery bar bill which was confusing because we assumed the drinks were included since we paid so damn much for the tickets. I don’t know, maybe I read the ticket wrong. But then it almost seemed as if she was scamming us because when we asked to see the check; she didn’t have it. So, in the interest of just wanting to get the hell out of there, I told my husband to just give her the credit card. She whipped out her credit card machine which she turned on and then seemingly turned back off and asked us “don’t you have cash”? Boy was that sketchy as hell!!! Thankfully we did not have cash! Then she says “don’t worry about it”. It was very odd!!! Never again with...
Read moreI just shared my experience on Trip adviser. I took this cruise with my mother on 7/5/25. We arrived early as did many other passengers. There was no place to sit down (inside or outside) to wait for the cruise boat to arrive. We all stood in the almost 90 degree summer sun for about 30 minutes! Once inside and seated, we waited for our optional appetizer which I had paid $17 for. After 15 minutes, nothing happened so I asked our server. He asked to see my reservation which confirmed I had paid for the appetizer. After another 10 or so minutes it arrived. It was the crab dip which came with cold pita bread. It was adequate, so no complaints there. The buffet was a total disappointment. The selection was made up of 5 or so dishes - small pieces of indistinguishable pork and chicken, small salmon pieces, sticky pasta and dry, hard small mixed potatoes and some mixed vegetables. Every item on the "hot" buffet was cold!! The salad selection was woefully lacking, some greens put together without it seemed much thought. The desert selection consisted of small pieces of cheese cake and a few slices of pound cake. The mixed fruit mentioned in their menu online was not available. And I paid $250 for 2 of us! For those who are vegetarians you could better spend your money elsewhere. The servers were friendly and attentive. The loud music could have been turned down for the buffet lunch, it was difficult to carry on a conversation with family members. The viewing deck would have made sight seeing a more comfortable and enjoyable experience if there were umbrellas to provide shade from the hot July sun. The views of the statute of liberty and the new york skyline never fail to awe. Unfortunately we did not hit all the sites posted on the website like the Brooklyn Bridge. On the way back we stopped to drop off passengers at the Chelsea Pier - which did not add to the whole "cruise lunch" experience. I will stick to real cruising...
Read moreMother's Day brunch Seated at one table as soon as we put bags down, we were asked to move to table behind us.
Daughter didn't feel well Walked to bar and asked for water - they said 'it's being brought around' Waiter and bartender proceeded to fill pitchers for all tables - more than 5?+ mins passed I walked up and demanded water as she didn't feel well. They apologized and gave me ice water. We settled at the new table drinking water after 5+ mins a different (very apologetic) waiter moving us back to our first table. DJ Started playing LOUD music Then "welcomed" everyone to the brunch cruise with his mouth at the microphone making him EXTREMELY LOUD. . Then first three songs were about CHEATING at a MOTHERS DAY BRUNCH The next three songs were about "the pursuit" of women
Very poorly coordinated - KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE
This is not a party brunch - It was a family day with multi-generations sitting around the tables celebrating mother's & their families.
Music was for a party brunch - R&B / dance Not for a Sunday morning / midday brunch with a mixed age audience of all cultures. A mix of music at a lower volume should have been incorporated
Just after I finished typing all of this - - - the manager approached us and asked if we would be willing to move downstairs because we were at a larger table and he had a large party. He offered to pay for all drinks ordered from the bar as a thank you for moving... All in all staff was nice But the experience was sub par. As I was the "guest" I don't know what my daughter paid. But a lifelong NY/North Jersey resident - I've been on enough cruises around Manhattan to know --- it was not cheap.
This was a poor event for a family.
If it was a Saturday evening - it would...
