Like many of the other reviews, I agree that the building is very nice. Its on the water, sweeping views of Manhattan and pretty nice amenities. BTW, they highly incentivize people to make positive reviews upon moving in. One will find a nice gift wrapped around their door knob, so I'd take the positive reviews lightly.
In my opinion, the units have very unintuitive layouts and design. For example, the bathrooms don't have A/C vents, or the shades take half a foot of room because they protrude out. The kitchens do not have much cabinet space and the front door opens right into the kitchen / living space, which has more of a hotel feel to it.
Worst of all, the management is just horrible. I would not deal with any building managed by Greystar. I left my unit early, and continued to pay my rent, as per agreed, even though it was sitting there empty. Well, I made the mistake of disconnecting the electricity early, and just because they could, they decided to gouge me with above rate electricity fees for an empty apartment as well as other "processing fees". That's just plain predatory and not right.
They have the most lazy manager I have ever known. She acts like she's doing everyone a favor by coming into the office - when she does come in. She is ineffectual and incompetent. i asked around and both the employees and other tenants agree with my characterization, so its not just the opinion of a disgruntled resident. I would not deal with this building...its not worth it. Plenty of nice buildings elsewhere.
P S. I am sure that there many similar cases , so I am willing to see an attorney with anyone that wants to join. I am sure there is plenty of systemic wrong doing going on here that can be subject to some type of...
Read moreMy wife and I moved to Harbor 1500 in September 2019. From the first day of our tour with leasing property manager Steve the experience was top notch. The residents, building staff and concierge were welcoming and amazing. Steve made sure we found the unit that fit our needs and life style. Steve is the Best. There are excellent amenities and views surrounding the building. My experience with the management team starts with Kara who is amazing a true professional, kind and loves her work she is attentive, knowledgeable and will go the extra mile for you to make sure your needs are addressed. We have a daily experience with Pro Park and the staff are great always makes sure our truck is ready to go. The maintenance team led by Carlos knows how to get the job done and always on point. The cleaning crew are the Best they are kind and has Harbor 1500 in tip top condition daily. The concierge staff Monday to Sunday all shifts remain courteous and have good energy and provides a welcoming vibe to come home to. Kyle a major player of the management team and our residence connection keeps us connected to events and current affair as needed, a true professional and good person. We are now experiencing Covid -19 but The Harbor as my wife and I call it. keeps us feeling safe, connected to our community and reminds us even through these uncertain times they are still here for us 100%. You could not ask for anything more WE appreciate all of you and ask that you all stay safe and look forward to when we can all return to the new norm. We love it here at The Harbor 1500. Best choice of living...
Read moreWe had lived at Harbor 1500 since 2020 and recently moved out. Do yourself a favor and do not move to these apartments. They seem "nice" but they are a disaster.
First things first, we lived in 3 separate units in our time in the building. The second unit had so much condensation that the floors were coming up and there was mold above and underneath the floor boards (attaching videos that show the mold and condensation). I lost a lot of meaningful possessions, such as my wedding shoes and many other valuable items to the mold. They transferred us into another unit and things just got progressively worse.
The fire alarms go off at all times of the night. There was one circumstance where there was a bomb threat. Another time where the AC went out and they didn't fix it for days. Then construction started and it was so loud that both my husband and I had received comments from our coworkers that they could hear it during meetings. The building also smells terribly but they cover it up in the lobby with perfume because otherwise it would straight up smell like poop. This is the farthest thing from luxury living.
I could go on and on for the reasons this building and the management team are truly the worst, but then this review would be extremely long, so just do yourself a favor and do not live here. Pay attention to the negative reviews. They're there...
