Updated Review : I usually donât write these, but based on my personal experience at this establishment, the employee/owner (not sure which) working on 1/25/25 was unwelcoming, unprofessional, and blatantly rude.
When I walked in, I wasnât greeted. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes, we asked the worker if he had a certain kind of PokĂ©mon card and showed him a picture on the phone. He abruptly said, âNo,â barely glancing at the image. We then asked to see the binder of PokĂ©mon cards, as no one else was actively looking at it. The worker grabbed a binder from under the counter and basically threw it onto the desk for us to look at without saying a word. After browsing through the $10-and-under binder, we politely asked if we could see the other binder, since no one else was using it, but were told, âNo.â At that point, we decided to leave.
After writing the initial review, the owner responded and claimed that the binder belonged to a child. However, that didnât seem to be the case at all. The child was picking out cards from the binder and showing them to the employee, and we even heard the childâs mom say that he could only get two cards that day.The worker/owner took no responsibility or accountability and instead deflected by saying it was the childâs binder. If that were true, he could have simply told us, âThat binder isnât ours; itâs actually his,â which isnât difficult to communicateâespecially to customers who were interested in spending money and time at the store. We would have understood if the worker had just explained that the binder didnât belong to the store and moved on. Instead, every question we asked was met with a cold âNo.â
Once again, in my opinion, itâs best to avoid spending your time and money at this store because the service...
Read moreI just bought a PS2 Slim last night. I was assured that all systems are "tested" before they are sold. When I got home, I found out that they gave me the wrong power cord for the PS2 Slim. I drove all the way back to the store (35 minute) to get the correct cord. The girl behind the counter swapped out the cord and showed me that the unit powered up. When I got the system home and hooked up with a disc, the red light comes on, flashes green, then shuts down. Searching on Google shows me that there is a problem with the board on the inside and the system requires internal maintenance and soldering. I called the store. The girl behind the counter said that she would have the manager call me tomorrow. I told her that I wanted a refund on the system, but their policy is no cash refunds which is ridiculous because I have had the system for 2.5 hours and it NEVER worked despite their insistence that they tested the system. She then tried to call the manager... the manager answered, but she FORGOT TO PUT ME ON MUTE/HOLD. I heard their whole conversation... "He's really angry..... it doesn't work. What do I do?" Well, she comes back on the phone and says that the manager will call me TOMORROW. I asked, "Why can't I talk to him NOW?" She says, "The manager is not available....." Then how were you talking to him on the phone? If he's talking to you, he's available. I even told her that I heard her whole conversation and caught her BLATANTLY lying to me. Now I'm out $80 unless I can get this resolved. Quite frankly, I'm done with them. I like to help a locally owned store, but their service is terrible and they REFUSED to own up to selling a...
Read moreEdit to their subpar reply which proves my point exactly... What theft if I literally said to you to give the kid another pack of cards and bill it to me when I was done shopping? You proved with this response how little you value your customers and how terrible your customer service is. I will gladly keep on shopping at Shu Shus card shop. At least they respect their customers and don't rip people off!
Very disappointed in the staff. The prices are usually above market which is ok by me. I don't mind paying up to save a trip to other card shops. I already know I'm over paying. But the owners son is very rude even after spending a significant amount of money in the store. Acting like I'm not going to purchase a $15 dollar pack of cards for a kid to enjoy the hobby. I noticed the kid only bought one pack so I wanted him to have a second. I said give him a second pack on me and cash me out when I'm done, as I was still choosing what pack and cards to purchase. Then just give him the pack and don't make the situation tense by demanding I pay for a single pack of cards before the kid left. Like you don't know me already and my purchasing habits? The attitude the owners son has sucks and he should learn better customer service and appreciation for repeat customers. SHU SHU card shop is where I'll keep going from now on! They price everything fair to market and the owner knows how to treat...
