Token Ramen & Tea (Kung Fu Tea) opened two days ago at The Shops at Wiregrass!
They are located right in the main entrance between Grillsmith and Cantina Laredo. The interior is nicely decorated with ample amount of seating on the inside and they have four tables on the patio for outside dining.
We got our food to go: Ninja Chicken Nuggets Takoyaki Black Garlic Ramen Mega Pork Ramen Honey Oolong Tea with Boba Passionfruit Green Tea with Boba
Overall the food is really good even with just take out instead of dine in. We are glad that their food and drinks are consistent with other Token Ramen locations!
The Mega Pork Ramen was really good: the broth is super milky but a tiny bit salty in my opinion. However, you can taste the different flavors of the pork chashu slices from the Pulled Pork Chashu and the Mega Pork Chashu. The eggs are perfectly seasoned as well.
The broth in the Black Garlic Ramen is definitely smells garlicky and looks on point, but I expected more of the black garlic taste in the ramen. It is still good overall but I had high expectations lol
I’m going to get a little technical with drinks because I have a family member who works at KFT in SoFlo:
The drinks are made perfectly just we ordered: Honey Oolong Tea with no milk, no ice, boba, and 100% sugar Passionfruit Green Tea with no ice, boba, 30% sugar (less sweet)
The two girls at the front making the bobas were very consistent and well versed in their orders: they poured all of the drinks over ice first before capping them off. Overall I am super appreciative of the bobaristas because not every place gets our order correctly and usually leaves something out.
Here are a couple of tips to keep in mind before you visit:
You will need to fight the mall parking because they are inside wiregrass. So be prepared to drive around to find parking!
They just opened two days ago (on Friday) so they are very overwhelmed in the kitchen so BE PREPARED to wait for your food! The drinks are not an issue and come out within 5-8 minutes max, but the food took over 40 min for it to come out. You will need to order first before you can sit down at a table so the cashier will tell you that the food will take about 40min wait. The service is super nice and friendly and they are very apologetic about the delay.
You might be able to order ahead (if you are lucky) because they are super busy and sometimes they don’t pick up the phones. We tried calling them a few times and we decided to just head over there and order in person instead.
Overall we are super glad that this place opened up and now we get our boba within 5 min from our house! We will definitely return again for the food in a few weeks when they have adjusted to...
Read moreI called over the phone to place an order for Spicy beef ramen (I requested spicy sauce on the side and she said she can do that). Upon arrival, the cashier named Victoria made me feel down by shutting down any question I asked her. First, I kindly asked her to apply the mall employee discount and her response was “we don’t do that no more, it’s been over a year since we did that,” that’s unfortunately not true because within the past 4 months I’ve ordered 4 different times and have gotten the discount every single time. Another thing is that she forgot to give me the hot sauce and when I went back into the restaurant to ask her for it she insisted that it was an upcharge of $1.50 which I thought I already paid for when I called over the phone. The way she says things can be very snappy and condescending. Like she was looking at me with a “fake” smile and kept saying that if I wanted the hot sauce it’ll be $1.50. At this point I’m not going to be eating the food because it’s not exactly what I ordered and I won’t be returning the food either, but I will never be eating at that...
Read moreWent to this place at Wiregrass Mall - just opened up and wanted to give it a try and compare with Mitchi Ramen down to street. Decent place to eat. Got the tonkutsu. It was good, a little salty (typical, but I prefer less sodium, which Mitchi Ramen was better to me). For to go option, there wasn't enough soup. Ramen should have more soup to slurp. For the pork bun. Very soft, big option (bigger than the ones at Mitchi). It was ok, nothing special. Got the rice bowl with braised pork and egg. Very disappointing. This is a rice bowl, NOT a soup bowl. It was flooded with so much sauce, making it like a soup base and not a rice bowl. The meat was good. Hope they take this comment into consideration and not to put too much sauce in the future. Will give another try much later to see if there any improvement. They are a little slow in service, so expect a delay with your orders. They do have Boba teas, which i didn't get to try, but have tried Kung Fu tea at other locations and...
