Game Mechanix - West Monroe — Attraction in West Monroe

Even though I gave 5 stars, I hate this store. I'm rating product availability and retro gaming supplies and games, cleanest of store, and services variety,

I don't want to come off too negative, however, for what it is and where it's at I am sure it serves it's purpose. The few times I have gone can tell a good majority of their business is the repair side of things for which I think is awesome as hard to come by these days.

Now, as far as the video game collector in me unfortunately it falls into the spectrum of nice things that I will never purchase due to the prices. This isn't true of all things as most lower end games are fair, however once you get 40$+ there's when the difference is noticed.

To me, there's a reason that some stuff has been there each time I have visited over the years. Almost as if it's to show off quite the selection with no intent of ever selling it. Sure, there's overhead and markup but you also are in an industry that prices fluctuate quite often and if sitting on stock that hasn't moved, simply getting them closer in line with the market may do so.

Too, I could be completely wrong, maybe there just isn't the demand in the area, regardless of price for niche/rarer titles.

It's to the point I don't want to ask for a price when I see those specific items I am still after as know it will be well past what if I wished to purchase elsewhere I could have already.

PS - Please move the PS3 games away from the door, the sun has faded them...

recently bought a new product from them that was faulty out the box. took it back and was told they would not do anything for me or return my money. they told me to contact the manufacturer. manufacturer also dose not warranty products and i was advised to contact my bank by the manufacturer. this is not the first time ive had issues with them. would also like to point out that some of the staff is nice but the owner and management is not very polite.

they have also told me they want replace ps1 or ps2 disk drives cause there not reliable but i did the repair for 20$ and its worked for 2 years so far with heavy use.

they do poor jobs inspecting used products before they put it in the shelf. ive had to bring back multiple gameboy/gbc/gba games for loose batteries inside of them then they charged me for the battery fix.

in all thow i love how the store is set up and whats there i can drive 30min down the road to a store thats has much better prices and...
