I have shopped this thrift store for years and even followed them to Westerville although I do know that they are well over priced for second hand belongings. But if you shop for sale prices it's better. I actually spend anywhere from $50.00 to $75.00 bucks a week until Oct 2024. When I felt a pair of shoes was way over priced so I asked the skinny dark haired shoulder length lady if she could take $3.00 bucks off the $15.00 dollar price for a pair of shoes for my granddaughter and without even coming to look at the shoes or how much merchandise I was purchasing she shrugged her shoulders and smirked her nose and refused like she was someone. Little does she realize but my estimated $300.00 bucks monthly that I spend in that store helps to pay her for working there. I know that I have shopped there for at least 15 yrs and have only once before asked for a $45.00 pair of used tennis shoes be lowered for my disabled son who I also take there to shop and this curly dark haired lady graciously agreed to do so for him. I mean she realized that they are used shoes and I know she has seen us in the store often and I believe she is a little higher up but the skinny lady has been there many yrs too and I know that she has seen me and my son and granddaughter in there often. When you have good customers who are there often and really spend money, well you should try to make accommodations to keep them happy especially when they don't hardly ask that something be discounted a little. That was only the second time in probably 15 yrs or more that I have been shopping there. Anyway I have found a new thrift store that is so much better in prices that I been going to for the last 6 wks. Maybe the owners should talk to their employees and school them on how to keep good customers like myself cause they are now loosing my, my son's and my granddaughter's at least $300.00 a month. I still may go in there once in a while but actually I am very happy she did that cause I have found a great thrift store that is at least half the price or more. And this wouldn't of happened if she didn't treat a good customer like she did. Like I was beneath her and she wasn't even going to walk over to see what I was referring to. And I don't complain and I usually just pay it or put it down if I think it's too much. But my granddaughter really wanted those used shoes which were not even a name brand. Sorry you just lost a good customer who use to shop there regularly. Take some customer service training for your good faithful customers lady. Otherwise besides it being well over priced my experiences there have been ok except her and her treatment like I was beneath her and she couldn't even come see what we were referring to. Good riddens lady. I will get at least double merchandise at my new favorite place and so...
Read moreVery Disappointed – Overpriced and Disorganized!
I’ve been to many thrift stores over the years, but Village Discount Outlet in Westerville is by far one of the most frustrating shopping experiences I’ve had. For a store that claims to be a “thrift store,” their prices are absolutely ridiculous. In fact, many of their items are priced the same (or even higher!) than what you’d pay at stores like Plato’s Closet or sometimes even full retail! It’s honestly baffling to see used clothes and accessories marked at prices that don’t make any sense.
Not only are the prices outrageous, but the store is completely disorganized. Unlike other thrift stores where items are at least grouped by size, here you’re left to sift through everything in a random, chaotic mess. It's nearly impossible to find anything that might actually fit, and even if you do, it’s just not worth the time and frustration.
I also noticed that the store has a pretty limited selection of higher-quality or designer items, which you’d expect to see at a thrift store with these kinds of prices. Most of the items are cheap, low-quality brands that you’d expect to find at a discount store, not a “thrift” outlet.
After visiting multiple times and giving it a chance, I’ve decided that I won’t be returning. There are far better thrift stores out there where you can actually find deals and enjoy a more organized shopping experience. This place is neither budget-friendly nor user-friendly.

Read moreNow this place has its pros and cons, definitely not my fave in the area. There is a huge selection and resell items if you’re looking out for resell items (be careful and do research on the prices before buying). I think the biggest problem is the prices. It’s either extremely expensive compared to other places (not even just the upscale section!). Im talking about graphic shirts and family reunion (not in my interest lol, just to give an example) shirts they’re asking for WAY too much. It’s the type of stuff you’d see at Wal-Mart for cheaper, yes I know I can walk into a Wal-Mart and get a shirt, but thrift stores shouldn’t be selling these for over the top prices. Now aside from prices, the store is really well cleaned. I would say it’s pretty well organized (I can tell when places just cleaned their stuff and it just happened to get messy since). It still looks pretty new since they’ve moved to this location. Staff was a lot friendlier when this location first opened, now these new employees just seem to be very cold and bothered by customers. My last two trips, me and my partner have gotten nothing but attitudes and irritable vibes. Otherwise, you aren’t missing much, but it’s not a bad store either. If you have some money to splurge on some reasonably priced clothes (not all of their clothing has low prices, but you can find some cheap clothes too) then yes, otherwise if you are looking for thrift store prices, this isn’t the...
