China Garden Buffet — Restaurant in Westerville

This was mine and my husband's first and LAST time coming to this establishment, its not a restaurant, its an establishment. The food had absolutely no taste what so ever, food was either cold, undercooked, overcooked or just completely dried out. I had the sweet and sour chicken, the red sweet and sour sauce was NOT sweet and sour sauce. The chicken was tough and tasteless. I also got cucumbers that were completely dried out and hard, along with what I assumed was pineapple and honeydew melons. Pineapple tasted like they stuck fresh cut Pineapple in water to completely wipe out the Pineapple taste and the honeydew was rock hard and had zero flavor. You could basically say I was eating mystery fruit because that certainly wasn't God's sweet nectar of life! My husband had abunch of random things, his plate honestly reminded me of that buffet scene in National lampoons vegas vacation movie. "I'll have some of the yellow" (cook behind the counter realizes the spoon is in the wrong dish so the blue goes into the yellow and yellow goes into the blue). The only thing that was good was when we left, I immediately got onto Google reviews and my husband and I had a really great laughing fit at all the other reviews of similar experiences. I told my husband that while other peoples suffering isn't funny I could only laugh because I'm so scared we too will end up with food poisoning. Going out for lunch here is punishment ENOUGH! I recently had the pleasure of dining at China Garden Buffet, and I must say, it was surprisingly good. It had been years since I had eaten here and I wanted to give it a second chance. It was really good from start to finish! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and attentive staff, which set a welcoming tone for the entire meal. The selection at China Garden Buffet is truly impressive. They offer a vast array of dishes, ensuring there's something to please every palate. I particularly enjoyed their fresh hot food bar was constantly replenished with piping hot, delicious classics. From the crispy spring rolls to the savory General Tso's chicken, every dish I tried was prepared with care and tasted incredibly authentic. I also appreciate the variety of fresh fruits and decadent desserts available – a perfect way to round off a satisfying meal. Beyond the delicious food, the restaurant and buffet were clean, well-maintained, and offered a comfortable dining environment. The tables were promptly cleared, and the staff was always on hand to assist with any requests. Walking in Lady yelled at us from across the place while helping us to get to our table and before we even sat down was asking about drinks. Silverware was clean and food looked decent Soy sauce tastes funny and the pork on a stick was super tough… dad loves the soup.. sushi looked old and crab looked like plastic, rice was undercooked, took a bite of the orange chicken.. no chicken.. just bread. Potstickers we’re good though a little tough but other then that tasted fine, sat down on the seat to slide in going to try some other foods and the seat has no cushion and I hit the wood block on the inside. The potato’s are pretty good but I couldn’t put salt on my food because there was hard RICE in my salt?? Soup had no flavor, fried doughnuts were delicious! Soy sauce bottle leaked out the cap all over me wonton soup had flavor unlike the egg soup, general sao’s was general no’s. Ice cream was insufferable to scoop also tastes weird and my mouth is numb.. and the jelly is hard, hallways to the bathroom were dark and creepy like and the bathroom stall locks were gone but the bathroom at least looked and smelled clean, toilet paper holder was coming off the wall.. and the hand soap dispenser had mold on it and and the soap on the counter was hair treatment soap.. never coming...
