I've been coming to this location for a very long time and I've never had a bad experience. Most people know what Bob Evans is and what it's about, but for those who don't, it's a restaurant diner with a simple menu and decent food. They focus heavily on breakfast and that's why most people go. They do have some decent lunch and dinner options and some interesting seasonal options, but it's mostly a breakfast place.
When I go, it's usually for breakfast or lunch. I'm a big fan of the French toast and sausage links. Of course, the home fries are quite good as well and one of the staples of the restaurant chain. If I go with lunch, it's usually a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. If u go for dessert it's usually one of their seasonal offerings. For drinks, I typically get lemonade or orange juice.
The food is good and the service is decent the vast majority of the time. My order has only ever been messed up 1 or 2 times in well over 100 visits and even then, both times were because the waitress was new and the place was a little busy. Not a big deal.
The environment is cozy. They don't do loud music like some diners and that makes for a chill time. It can be loud if it's busy, but it's not the same kind of loud as you'd get at, say, a TGI Fridays during dinner rush.
I also worked at this location for about 6 months before joining the army about 12 years ago. This is one of the few places I've worked where I'll still eat the food after I left. That's saying something, I think.
In any case, I would recommend to family and friends, no problem....
Read moreSimple order .. no substitutions... was literally the only person waiting for an order given the time I was scheduled to pick it up for to go.. to start they turn down someone with 20 years of professional and ownership in the restaurant service industry and cooking for a cooking position they have posted I inquire about which I completely understand due to my limited availability... but beyond that like I said given the time we were literally THE ONLY ORDER.. I arrived 15 minutes before my schedule time just to be early and ready for it fresh only to find it sitting on the counter waiting for me already without any heating lights or anything..my mistake I didn't double check my order but I didn't, only to get home to not have my green beans, had carrots instead , No biscuits for the sausage gravy , No rolls , and absolutely everything was COLD... NOT warm but COLD ... HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO GO HERE MUCHLESS TIP UNTIL YOU KNOW YOUR ORDER IS CORRECT AND FRESH ... if they were slammed I could understand this happening but having 4 people there in the front including Alex the manager and 0 I repeat ZERO PEOPLE THERE to take care of ,they still screwed my order up this bad !!!! You all need much more HELP than just cooks ... 🤦♂️ very sad this is what Bob Evans has come to... I'm actually grateful she said with my ridiculous availability that it wouldn't work out cooking there ... As a food truck and catering company owner ,I absolutely would not stand for something like this in my kitchen when there 1 order to get CORRECT...
Read moreHonestly, it was pretty awful. I ordered ahead of time online (providing my email and phone number in case they needed to contact)...roughly $60 worth of dinner food. Estimated time to prepare/pickup was 35 minutes. I had some errands, so I showed up about 40 minutes later. When I get there, I was told they were out of baked potatoes (I had 2 on my order), what other sides would I like? Why didn't they call when they received the order to let me know they didn't have what I ordered? This is supposedly why I was asked for my contact information on the online form. I then had to call the recipients that ordered potatoes to find out what they wanted as a replacement, then wait additional time for it to be prepared while the rest of my food sat on a counter.
I got my food home, and they had forgotten my wife's dessert she had ordered, and my son's strips didn't have any buffalo sauce he had requested. I called the restaurant and was informed they no longer sold buffalo strips (even though they were available for order, and I was never informed of this, they just thought plain strips were fine), and I was to drive back to get the dessert I paid for.
We opened the food, and it was dry, lukewarm and/or cold (likely from all the "fixes" and waiting that had to be done on the order), and rubbery.
Had I known it would have been this much of a hassle for pretty "meh" food, I would have simply ordered delivery elsewhere. Not a solid "1 star" (the food was edible), but...
