Hines Park is a decently large park with many open spaces to put a dog park yet the Wayne County dog park is absolutely tiny. Not only is it small, but it's placed directly next to the river so that every time a decent rain comes, it is completely under water. After a few days and the flood goes down, the dog park is a mud pit. The city seems to think that closing the dog park for 6 weeks in the spring for "reseeding" is actually going to make the grass grow back. It doesn't. When large dogs are in such a confined space, grass gets torn up. It's always muddy here. The county does not take care of the dog park like they should. Patrons of the park do more for the dog park than the county does. The only great thing about this park is that there is a never ending supply of water for the dogs. Also, there are no bathrooms for the owners. I would rather drive out to an Oakland County park because they are much larger with plenty of room for dogs to actually run.

My dogs love it here. It gets muddy when it rains, and the mosquitoes are atrocious, but it's about the dogs having fun. The water hookup and covered pavilion are nice, especially in the summer. There's a good assortment of toys and balls left here, but mostly my dogs like playing with the other dogs. As far as the membership goes, yeah it's a bit of a chore to bring in all your paperwork to Nankin Mills, but the fee is only $20 per year. Even if you only bring your dog twice a month, that's less than a dollar per visit.

Small little dog park that has a lock managing access for pets and owners. Open year round this space gives a nice place for the community to enjoy some time with their best friends. There is a split area for large and small dogs to provide security and balance for the spectrum of dogs out there. Come and enjoy! đŸ¶

First let me just say the rules of this dog park are completely stupid. You have to register ($25)with proof of shots and Wayne Dog license. Then you get your card which is required to be on your person when you are at the park. If you don't have it and the sheriff shows up (who is a stickler) you get a $150 fine.

I understand wanting to protect the animals by enforcing that each person has proof that their dog is safe to play with others. This is seriously overkill I've been to many dog parks but none that treated their patrons like this.

Negative comments aside, we take our husky pup here all the time. The park is large and usually has quite a few other dogs to play with. Everyone I've met here is very friendly if you want to talk or will give you space if that's your thing.

TLDNR: park rules suck, bring your cardïżŒ, the park is...

Only giving 2 stars. If your dog doesn’t listen or is not friendly to other dogs you have no business being at this park! my dog was ganged up on and attacked by two dogs and I wasn’t even 10ft into the park. As I screamed “get your dogs off” the owner did NOTHING! Then proceeded to blame me for what happened because my dog was barking, (Keep in mind I have a 6month old puppy! he just wants to play) I called the sheriff number available at the park, spoke to an officer but then was transferred, had to leave a message and no one ever contacted me! I talked to a few people at the park, described the dogs and was told by numerous people that thoes dogs start fights a the time! Why is this still going on? And why isn’t this problem being addressed? I am surprised there are not other...
