I found this online as The Pillar of Fire 'Castle' and had to see it! Amazing that is was built in 1893 by New Yorker Henry Mayham out of sandstone from Red Rocks. The scencic view of Denver is nice as well. Apparently its being used as a school! Could you imagine attending elementary/middle school in a castle!?!? The castle was locked, with a few lights noticably on inside but no one there, doors locked (darn!)... I can only imagine how cool it is inside!! Beautiful! Amazing!!

Cool castle from the outside. Didn't try to go in. I think it is actually being used for various businesses or schools or something so we didn't want to bother anyone but would love the opportunity to tour it someday. We could see it from our hotel window and decided we had to get a closer look the next morning. We are glad we did. It was worth the short drive.

Westminster Castle is quite a spectacle. It's a truly amazing castle! This place feels unreal. When standing in front of it it's easy to imagine that this might be what being at Hogwarts could be like. Sitting high on the hill and surrounded by lush green grass. It's definitely a destination to make when in Colorado!

There is a reason that this beautiful and solidly constructed building occupies this particular piece of land, as it has for over 100 years. The views from this part of town are actually up on a ridge that has an unblocked panorama of downtown to the south and the entire front range to the west. It's nothing short of amazing to sit up here at sunset and watch the sky and clouds as they drift through the shades of orange to pink and then eventually darken to purple, blue and gray as night sets on the...

I attended kindergarten here at Pillar of Fire school when I was but a lad of 5. I am 63 now. I believe it was a Mennonite school at the time with nuns as teachers. The discipline was strict and punishment was corporal. I guess my mom thought I needed that! It could be a bit of a creepy place at times.

I recently went back and found my childhood home. This was just a bonus find as I was exploring the old neighborhood for the first time since moving...
