Read moreI found this online as The Pillar of Fire 'Castle' and had to see it! Amazing that is was built in 1893 by New Yorker Henry Mayham out of sandstone from Red Rocks. The scencic view of Denver is nice as well. Apparently its being used as a school! Could you imagine attending elementary/middle school in a castle!?!? The castle was locked, with a few lights noticably on inside but no one there, doors locked (darn!)... I can only imagine how cool it is inside!! ...
Read moreI attended kindergarten here at Pillar of Fire school when I was but a lad of 5. I am 63 now. I believe it was a Mennonite school at the time with nuns as teachers. The discipline was strict and punishment was corporal. I guess my mom thought I needed that! It could be a bit of a creepy place at times.
