We reserved two tickets the other night online to book our group to play Excalibur. Excalibur is a 6-10 player game and we brought four friends who were just going to purchase their tickets upon arrival for our group. Upon arriving, we were informed that a separate group of five had been added to our room/ game and would be playing with us. As the original two purchasers of the tickets, we were not contacted to see if we were okay playing with complete strangers during a pandemic, we were just informed upon arrival. Again it’s a 6-10 player game, why would we only purchase two tickets for a 6 player game without planning on bringing our friends - we were under the assumption that is being the original two purchasers of the tickets reserved the entire room for us (that’s how it operates at the other escape room). When we showed up with our party we were told the rules “had changed six months ago” and we either had to play with the other party or our tickets would be moved to a different day BUT we would have to purchase EIGHT tickets for six players “in order for the business to make a profit.” We were already there and decided to go ahead and play with the other group (who were awesome, by the way). They did accommodate us by allowing us to play with 11 instead of ten players. However, it ruined the entire experience for everyone because we had 10+ people crammed inside a room the size of a small bedroom. Many of us sat on a bench inside the room while others worked puzzles because there were too many people to operate a puzzle at a time in a sequential puzzle room. I’d highly recommend spending your money at the other escape room downtown as it is a much more...
Read moreOur family of four adults age range 22-51 went to the Morgantown escape room for our daughters 24th birthday. We weren’t sure what to expect but it sounded like fun! When we arrived we were greeted by Claire. She gave us a complete run down of things to do and not to do. Once inside the room we observed everything and then got started. The more we solved the clues the more exciting it became. We all were involved in the process working together as a team solving each clue and completing the task. Claire was fantastic providing clues when we asked for them. While we did not finish in 60 minutes we were so close that Claire encouraged us to continue and she continued to provide clues when asked. We completed our first escape room in 67 minutes! Not bad for the first time. We will definitely be back again! When we unlocked the door to get out. Claire said we did a great job especially since it was our first time. Claire was a fantastic Game master! Claire also offered to take pictures of...
Read moreI took my family here for our first escape room attempt. We were 5 adults ages 27-50 and a 10 year old. I was on the fence about whether this would be too complicated for everyone to enjoy or too boring to indulge in. Still, it was something new to try.
Our host, Lydia, ran down the premise of the game thoroughly and got us hyped to begin. Once inside the room, there was plenty to observe and a few different options to get us started. The more we solved, the more excited we became! We all had a part in completing the various tasks, so it was nice that everyone was involved.
We did need a few clues along the way and Lydia was really quick to help us along. While we didn't get out before the time ended, we did come a long way - farther than I anticipated. And, as we were headed out, Lydia offered to take our photo as a group to remember the experience.
Again, we all had a blast! Now, we're discussing which room to attempt next! We will...
