Short Review: There are at least a couple other furniture stores in the area that have superior quality furniture and staff that are just a little bit more personable. Pac 5 prices are not that competitive, to be honest. Their prices are not horrible, for the record, but you might as well check out other places in the area (within a 10 minute drive) first. Pac 5 is probably a decent 3rd or 4th choice if you've exhausted your other options - a decent option, especially if you don't need anything super nice.
Longer Review: My wife and I were interested in one particular couch of theirs to furnish our new apartment. The couch we picked out happend to be out of stock. However, the sales floor associate pointed us to the "exact same couch" in the clearance section at the back of the store. The associate pointed out that a small hole in the back of the couch was the reason that particular couch was in clearance. I envisioned setting up the couch in front of a wall, so that small hole in the back (which we saw) would not have been a problem. Once we got home we noticed that the underside of the couch was torn. There was no way to see this in the store unless we asked them to lift the couch so that we could inspect the underside. We have small pets that would crawl under the couch if left alone so I taped the tear up. Not too big of a deal.
However, we then noticed a small tear in the front of the couch as well. Pictures of the couch I took in the store before we purchased it shows the small tear. The only difference is that a piece of the furniture fabric was pulled over the area and it was less noticeable. That tear was not pointed out to us in the store. I called their customer service number and the representative explained to me that they could not do anything about it since we bought the couch "as is," which means (I believe) they are not liable for anything (including, but not limited to refunds, returns and damages) once your card is swiped. They offered me the option to pick up fabric so that I could repair the hole on the underside of the couch myself, but they refused to do anything more. My goal in calling was not necessarily to get them to take to the couch back (I get it, I bought it "as is"), but I was at least expecting a bit more understanding of my position; which was that the tear to the front was clearly covered up, and I purchased the couch on the assurance from the sales floor rep that the hole to the back was the only flaw on that particular piece of furniture.
At the end of the day, the small tear in the front is not the worst thing in the world. I must admit, it is a bit annoying to look at, and I do feel a bit deceived since they obviously knew it was there and tried to cover it a bit. I suppose I should have made sure to look extra carefully before purchasing. This leaves me to my overall advice that if you purchase a piece of furniture from this company please inspect it thoroughly as they are unwilling to budge on their "as is" policy.
BTW: My wife just pointed out one of the legs is also a bit crooked. Oh well, you...
Read moreCouch on left was replaced after 51 days. Tried to get our money back or put toward a different couch but said they could not do that. Picture on right is replacement couch after 104 days! Same issue and now they say that 1year warranty is to provide us with box of poly fill to restuff the couch ourselves. I went into store yesterday and they have lowered the price on the same couch and loveseat by almost 25% I guess do to the quality of it and trying to get rid of them. With this kind of quality the are probably still making double on it. They customer service is horrible and once they get your money they don’t care. Be very aware of these people they are not good people. Keep coming up with excuses and suggested it could be wearing faster because of our size or It is common to fluff it up every time you sit on it. What a joke of a store and people. PAC 5 is part of the Chuck’s Furniture Family. Update Their ultimate fix was to give a box of fiber fill to restuff the couch and loveseat. Because they said this is all they can do. This place is a Joke and Beware before buying...
Read moreI was shopping for a new couch. I found the couch I wanted at Pac5, but due to the price decided to keep shopping. I went to another place and the service was horrible. We went back to PAC5 and I got the couch I fell in love with. The price was a little high BUT the service person Dustin was so wonderful. He was knowledgeable about the piece we bought. He educated us on warranty options and delivery. He let us take our time to make such a big decision. AND unlike the other store, he addressed my questions (that’s important because I’m a female and ran into a competitor company sales person who ignored my questions but answered my boyfriend’s). Dustin also did not make me feel like I was being taken advantage of nor just out to make a sale! Good job! I’ll definitely go back to checkout options for my other...
