So I live in this area and there aren't that many parks nearby. I was hesitant about going there with my 2 year old because it is in a rougher side of town. When I saw the pictures, I decided to go check it out since it's the closest park to where I live.
I was pleasantly surprised. It was pretty nice and my daughter had so much fun. There's obviously a homeless presence nearby, so I wouldn't go after dark. The biggest downfall, was that there was one sleeping bag near one of the slides. The playground area was completely empty when we went, which was really nice! We had the whole thing to ourselves. There's a few places where (I'm assuming) teenagers have put obscene words/sketches.
There wasn't any trash lying around and it was surprisingly pretty clean. All my daughter cared about was going down all the slides and there were plenty of them there. She had so much fun. The walking trails and the rest of the park appeared to be pretty clean too. I really liked that the playground has a gate so if you have little ones, you can latch the gate behind you and they can run around freely.
3/5, definitely go again during the day. The sleeping bag was a downfall but we just played around it. And the obscene drawings and writings were disappointing. The park itself is very clean. I'd just make sure to bring hand sanitizer after using...
Read moreIn all honesty I had no idea this park was here ... And I've lived in this area for many years! It's very small but comfortable, and has a nice homey feel. Many homeless people hanging around here, and the restrooms are filthy. Still nice for a quick getaway. It's very close to the Walmart near Nellis and Boulder Hwy.
As of 4.28.2022, it looks like the park has been cleaned up, although the homeless population has seemingly increased. Not sure about the restrooms.
Update on 11.22.22, Maslow Park has stayed pretty much the same. Overall it's well-maintained, but the park still attracts many unsavory characters. It's one reason why I don't use the restroom there, so I can't verify...
Read moreI was one of the homeless people that have lived at this park and none of what y'all are saying negative about this place are wrong. The playground was chained and locked up because of the corona 6ft distance and masks but nobody followed the law which in return made the park police shut it down. As for the water pad, they shut down the only thing that the homeless used and that was at night before the park closed so they could shower. But that was after hours, otherwise the park hired 2ppl (homeless) work at the park to clean and they did faithfully every day. So I'm giving those place a 5 start rating because they...
