BEWARE!!! Shop here at your own discretion. This is a jewelery store that is full of deception and incompetence. They are based in the Villages and are fully aware of their advantage to deceive the elderly population that shop here and may not do the necessary research they should before making jewelery purchases. Mrs. Gutierrez is the business manager here, and she is terribly rude, and an even worse business manager. No fair resolutions were offered. Here is my story.
My name is Tina and I was a buyer of an engagement ring from this store. We ordered a 14k diamond cluster ring in yellow gold. We were told the diamonds were of great cut, color, and clarity for being cluster diamonds. They sold us the ring for over $900.
We received a 10k low grade diamond cluster ring with chipped and missing diamonds. There was literally a missing diamond in the ring coming straight out of the box from the store. Not to mention, the sizing line was still visible, a very rookie mistake. They claimed they purchase straight from the "manufacturer" and it was an up charge (they charged us over $200 extra) to get the ring in yellow gold. No jeweler charges you to change from white to yellow gold, so don't be fooled. Also, the "manufacturer" they claimed to get the ring from is an actual retailer... so, if you like a piece of jewelry from this store, I suggest asking who the manufacturer is so you can bypass the EXTEREME RIPOFF you are about to experience from Brownwood Jewlers. After I was proposed to with the ring and we noticed the missing diamond we brought it to two jewelers by us in south Florida. When we brought the ring to the other jewelers, we got the ring looked at and was given a ballpark price of what our ring was worth. The ring was valued at less than $350, and when we brought that to brownwood jewlers attention they said that was impossible and we were lied to. I was proposed to with that ring and now I have nothing. They had the nerve to then offer to fix the diamonds and band and sell it to us for the original $650 it should have been sold to us for originally. Meanwhile, the diamonds should have never been chipped or missing and the gold carat should have already been the 14k they sold it to us as. I'm sorry but, after the deception and lack of quality I received, I don't believe that is a fair offer and I certainly don't want to support their business. I am BEYOND dissatisfied with Brownwood Jewelers service as a customer of theirs. I lost a special moment due to their deception and incompetence. Their attempt at reconciliation has left us with a net negative. They gave us our money back, returned the ring to the retailer and got THEIR money back, and we lost our sentimental object, was deceived, and disrespected. BUY AT...
Read moreMy wife and I took her watch to this location to have a battery replaced. A young woman approached, and when my wife explained what she needed, without any further comment, the young woman presented my wife with a waiver of responsibility for damage done to the watch. "If you feel your watch was working before we changed the battery and does not run after we change the battery...we are not responsible." This should have been a red flag, but we gave her the watch for a battery change. It took an unusually long time, and she appeared to be struggling with the change. She gave the watch to a Jeweler, who later identified his name as 'George'. She then left and walked to the back area, and never came back. 'George' brought the watch over to my wife, or I should say the pieces of the watch over to my wife. He explained they would have to send it out for repair. Among other things, the hands had come off the face of the watch. There was no mention of the store making good on the repair. We took the pieces of the store and left. We apparently are not the first customers who were dissatisfied. I would caution anyone to think before using the services...
Read moreI never saw myself wearing a traditional engagement/wedding ring so I knew I wanted to create a ring that had all details I was looking for but I didn’t know what those details looked like. I had never created custom jewelry, nor understood the process and I certainly didn’t know how to honor the heirloom diamonds and gold from my fiancée and my family. While visiting The Villages, my fiance’s mother recommended we schedule an appointment with Gina at Brownwood Jewelers. We met with Gina and she totally got our visions. She came up with a few different looks for both of us; for me, one was more than PERFECT. With the help of Gina, her expertise and patience, my fiancé and I were able to create our DREAM wedding rings with heirloom diamonds and gold from both of our families. The process was seamless (even across state lines) when my ring was delivered, I really couldn't believe the job they did. My ring looks more incredible than we ever could have imagined and I know I have something that I'll truly cherish forever. Thank...
